Job Title:Tenure Track/ Open Rank Research Faculty in PM&RDepartment:Medicine | Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member's tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a candidate in the area of Rehabilitation Engineering, including, but not limited to assistive technologies, rehabilitation robotics, wearables, neural engineering, user interfaces, neuroprosthetics, remote monitoring, artificial intelligence applications to rehabilitation science, and translation of rehabilitation technologies to clinical populations.Ohio State's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is nationally known for its comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation education and training. The Department has been a leader in caring for those with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke for more than 50 years. US News & World Report has ranked the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as one of the top programs in America. This year, the Department is ranked #1 in Columbus and #22 in the nation for delivering exceptional patient care. Additionally, the PM&R residency program is ranked 25th through Doximity Residency Navigator.The Department also provides the medical leadership and patient care of Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital, a 60-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital located on the main campus of OSUWMC.

PM&R is composed of 32 physicians, 6 research faculty, 12 rehabilitation psychology faculty, 21 residents, 7 fellows and 14 research support staff and is part of Ohio State's multidisciplinary Neurological Institute, a network of specialists collaborating in research, education and training. In addition, the PM&R Department is a leader in clinical applications of rehabilitative care and neurorecovery for diverse neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, stroke, and brain and spine injury. OSU PM&R ranked in the top seven for research funding amongst all PM&R departments in the nation by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research, our researchers are transforming the outcomes and care of patients with neurologic and musculoskeletal injuries.

Successful candidates will have already established a highly competitive independent research program or will have otherwise demonstrated the clear potential to do so. The applicant's research should include a clear pathway to translation and implementation in human clinical populations.
