Job description

Job Title: Sr. R&D Manager Location: Orangeburg, NY Type: Direct Hire on site daily Salary: $195k-$220k + 15% bonus

Responsibilities

  • Support market products by providing technical leadership and project management
  • Communicate program objectives clearly to assigned personnel and oversee planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure timely completion within budget
  • Manage R&D staff responsible for investigations related to complaints, CAPA, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Assist in transferring technology from R&D to manufacturing both domestically and internationally
  • Ensure documentation, testing procedures, and manufacturing practices comply with standards
  • Conduct technical meetings to report progress and resolve issues of major significance
  • Manage on-market assays, algorithms, reagents, solutions, controls, and calibrators
  • Assist with new product development assays in line with departmental goals
  • Supervise a team of technical professionals

Requirements

  • MS degree with 15+ years relevant experience in the IVD space OR PhD with 10+ years relevant experience in the IVD space
  • 7+ years managing scientists or engineers at various levels
  • Ability to travel internationally to China 1-2 times a year (no language requirement)
  • Proficient in complaint handling and CAPA procedures
  • Strong technical leadership, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
  • Effective time management, team leadership, and cross-functional relationship building
  • Excellent communication skills
