RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES:

1. Install, configure, monitor, and maintain network and infrastructure systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, identity and access management platforms, cloud and hybrid environments, network cabling and network security systems.
2. Monitor and maintain network performance, availability, connectivity, and security.
3. Maintain and support internet connectivity and wide area network services.
4. Administer DNS, DHCP, WAN, internet services, web hosting, and domain registrations.
5. Maintain network monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
6. Administer network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web filtering, email filtering, VPNs, cameras, and network segmentation.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
8. Assist end users with network-related questions and support requests.
9. Research, purchase, and support network hardware, software, and telecom services.
10. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network-related products and services.
11. Arrange for repair or replacement of network equipment.
12. Maintain current documentation including network diagrams, IP address inventories, switch port records, security configurations, maps and network architecture.
13. Collaborate with software development team to support internally developed solutions.
14. Communicate network status, access, security posture, capacity planning, and future expansion or upgrade recommendations to leadership.
15. Participate in cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability assessment, disaster recovery planning, internal audits, and incident response planning.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in network administration or related IT infrastructure roles.
KNOWEDLEGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN technologies, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, firewall, backup, and network monitoring tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of cybersecurity and network administration best practices.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, telecommunications equipment, network monitoring platforms, computers, and related networking hardware and software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Hand-eye coordination for typing and equipment maintenance. Ability to sit for extended periods, regularly stand, walk between buildings, talk, see, and hear. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
