Toyon Research Corporation is an industry leader in the areas of complex space and missile systems analysis, aerothermodynamics, payload design and development, and ground and flight testing. Our Aerospace Systems Group provides innovative technical solutions to support aerospace programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and their agencies. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to participate in the development of novel electro-mechanical space systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop structures and mechanisms for space applications through test and delivery
  • Author drawings, assembly documentation, and test plans
  • Collaborate with Program Management to define task objectives, timelines, and deliverables
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team environment involving diverse disciplines (e.g. aero-thermal and
  • thermo-structural analyses, RF and IR signature effects of materials and configurations, etc.)

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience designing mechanisms and structures for challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environments; 5 years preferred
  • Experience with the various elements of mechanical design, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection
  • Experience with AMSE y14.5 and other relevant ASME drafting standards
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100/MIL specifications as they apply to aerospace structures preferred
  • Experience using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and / or Creo skills is preferred, with the ability to quickly achieve proficiency in both CAD packages

The annual pay range for the Mechanical Engineer position is $110,000 to $165,000.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate's education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
