Job description


Associate Ingredient Scientist

The Scientific team at Russell Tobin is hiring an Associate Ingredient Scientist for an exciting food and beverage organization near Burlington, MA.
Responsibilities

  • Supports development of ingredient specifications.
  • Collect critical documents to ensure clients ingredients meet the required FDA standards.
  • Leads projects that impact ingredients, such as new supplier requirement updates, cost savings initiatives, supply issues or production challenges
  • Works with Product Development and other functions of R&D such as Sensory, Ingredients, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology
  • Develop / Update SOPs and training for job function as needed
  • Communicates with vendors to obtain required documentation
 
Requirements
  • B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or allied field
  • 1-3 years of experience in related function within food/beverage (R&D, Quality) or Client internship
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
 
Additional Details:
  • Position Type: 9 month contract opportunity with strong potential to extend up to 12 months.
  • Pay rate range approved: $30.50 - 34.50/hr depending on experience
