HumCap, Inc.

Job description

HumCap's client is looking for an Analytics / Reporting Engineer to join the Enterprise Reporting team. You'll build and maintain the data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure that drive decision-making across the business. This is a hands-on role — you'll write SQL, build models, design reports, and work directly with stakeholders who depend on accurate, timely data.
What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain reporting pipelines using dbt and Snowflake, transforming raw claims and operational data into clean, modeled datasets ready for analysis
  • Develop and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI and Omni, translating complex business questions into clear visual answers
  • Write performant, well-structured SQL across both Snowflake and SQL Server environments
  • Partner with finance, operations, and compliance teams to define metrics, build scorecards, and deliver ad-hoc analyses
  • Own data quality — implement tests, validations, and monitoring to catch issues before stakeholders do
  • Document data models, business logic, and metric definitions so the team can scale without tribal knowledge
  • Contribute to the evolution of our analytics stack, tooling, and engineering practices
What We're Looking For
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or a similar data-focused role
  • Strong SQL skills — you can write complex queries with CTEs, window functions, and set-based logic without leaning on cursors or temp tables
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake (warehousing, performance tuning, schema design)
  • Experience building and maintaining dbt models (staging, intermediate, mart layers; tests; documentation)
  • Proficiency with Power BI (data modeling, DAX measures, report design, publishing)
  • Experience with Omni or similar modern BI/semantic layer tools
  • Comfort working with healthcare data concepts (claims, CPT codes, payer/provider relationships) or willingness to learn quickly
  • Clear communicator who can explain data findings to non-technical stakeholders without jargon
Preferred
  • Experience with Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) for accelerating analytics workflows — prompt engineering, code generation, document analysis, or building AI-augmented reporting tools
  • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations or AI-assisted development environments
  • Background in healthcare dispute resolution, arbitration, or insurance claims processing
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for version control and project management
  • Exposure to Python for data transformation, automation, or scripting
  • Understanding of revenue cycle, regulatory reporting, or compliance analytics
What You'll Work With
  • Data Warehouse: Snowflake (CORE.REPORTING schema and related layers)
  • Databases: SQL Server (multiple environments)
  • Modeling: dbt (Cloud or Core)
  • BI & Visualization: Power BI, Omni
  • AI Tooling: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, MCP server integrations
  • Project Management: Azure DevOps
Why This Role
You won't be maintaining dashboards someone else designed three years ago. You'll be building the reporting infrastructure for a fast-moving healthcare analytics operation, working with modern tools, and integrating AI into real workflows — not as a gimmick, but as a daily productivity multiplier. If you like solving hard data problems and shipping things that people actually use, this is the role.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401K matching program
  • PTO
