Job Summary: Chemical Mix Operator is responsible for various chemical repackaging, manufacturing, and maintenance tasks in Thatcher Company's chlorine production facility. This role involves handling hazardous materials, operating equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Repackage chlorine, TChlor, and caustic soda into totes and drums
  • Load trailers with TChlor, caustic soda, and chlorine tons
  • Manufacture TChlor and caustic soda to specific percentages
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, washing, and bead blasting of 150's and tons
  • Rebuild valves as needed
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Pay Range: $22-24/hour
    Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Ability to don and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) multiple times per day
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and follow proper chemical handling procedures
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or handling
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and PSM requirements
  • Knowledge of pumps and their operation
  • Experience with forklift operation
  • Basic computer skills
  • The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in:

  • Railcar and truck loading/unloading
