Job description

Position Overview:

Order selectors are responsible for having a strong understanding of the equipment they use, pick locations in the warehouse, pallet building, productivity measures, and safety procedures.

  • Must be ok with working in cold temperatures (from 32 to -10 degrees)

    • Sundays are MANDATORY/ Saturdays are always OFF!
  • Physical ability to handle constant lifting of up to 90+lbs.

Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Job Responsibilities and Basic Duties:

  • Operates a double pallet jack throughout the warehouse.
  • Selects cases and applies pick labels.
  • Obtains work assignments.
  • Works in a fast distribution center environment 
  • Stacks cases onto pallets
  • Inspects equipment and fills out inspection checklist.
  • Cleans work area.

 Performance Measurements:

  • During our ramp up period which consist of the next 30 days after your first week of orientation, you will most likely work less than 40hrs. a week. We want you to train and acclimate to our working conditions, the repetitive lifting and the freezer environment. Depending on how quickly you’re able to achieve the performance standards on your own we will be able to provide more working hours after training 1-1 with our team.
  • Selector functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures including quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed.
  • Deadlines are met.

 Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of Safety guidelines and basic RF system functions ideal
  • Ability to select at established minimum rate for department.
  • Astute, close attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 90+ pounds continuously.
  • Understand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
