Role Purpose
Join our Supply Chain team where your analysis directly impacts decisions in the global energy sector. Our team is responsible for developing and managing cutting-edge market intelligence solutions, delivered through our comprehensive suite of software-as-a-service products, and our clients primarily leverage these insights for strategic planning, investment decision making, cost reduction, and risk management in the energy industry.
For this role, we are seeking a talented and versatile renewable cost analyst to support the development, expansion, and enhancement of Wood Mackenzie's Renewable Asset Cost Modelling (RACM) Solution Suite. You'll work with a global team and own our renewable system pricing analysis. This role requires subject matter expertise, analytical thinking, and advanced data analysis skills to drive innovation and deliver value to our clients in the renewable sector.
Working with product development, research, consulting, sales, and customer success teams, you'll build a powerful network while transforming complex market data into actionable insights that shape strategy for the renewable industry.
Main Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on renewable costs to clients. Respond to client inquiries, providing customized solutions, and demonstrating RACM's value throughout pre- and post-sales interactions.
  • Analyze and understand ongoing market events influencing capital and O&M costs for renewable assets. For example, how are new tariffs going to impact costs in the US?
  • Work with Wood Mackenzie researchers across the globe to ensure costs published through research flow into RACM.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze proprietary datasets to build, refine, and expand renewable data within the RACM product line.
  • Develop and implement efficient data pipelines and workflows to optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes.
  • Perform rigorous quality assurance testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of new features prior to release.
  • Deploy AI to automate complex data workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to advance the functionality, scalability, and innovation of the RACM product line, driving the delivery of new features and capabilities.
  • Contribute to market reports on renewable system costs and technology trends.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the renewables industry, focused on costs and supply chains. Experience in the O&M space is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of renewable systems and major cost components. Genuine interest in and knowledge of the renewable industry and energy transition.
  • Strong expertise in data collection, cleansing, and analysis, with a proven ability to build and enhance data-driven products.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Python, R, SQL, and AI assistants.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent organizational and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL workflows is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $105,000- $120,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term incentive compensation or commission. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
