About the role
As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, building, testing, and deploying scalable analytics and application solutions on cloud platforms for one of Cognizant's strategic retail clients. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with technical program managers, technical leads, developers, and client stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable, high-quality technology solutions.
In this role, you will:
• Design and implement analytics solutions and application models deployed on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Review business requirements, recommend technical solutions, and lead discussions with technical program managers, technical leads, and stakeholders.
• Build high-quality applications using industry-standard coding practices, including unit testing and coverage expectations defined by the project.
• Ensure features are successfully tested, deployed to production, and supported through appropriate monitoring solutions recommended by the client.
• Document application design, service specifications, and technical approaches while guiding developers in preparing functional and technical specifications.

What you need to have to be considered:
• 7+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using advanced Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA.
• Hands-on experience building cloud-based solutions on at least one major cloud platform; Microsoft Azure experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Kafka or another enterprise messaging queue technology.
• Strong understanding of application design, high-volume systems, and scalable solution development.
• Experience writing unit test cases and meeting defined code coverage expectations.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders in a client-facing delivery environment.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $68,000 to $114,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
