What is a remote work nurse?

A remote work nurse, also known as a telehealth nurse or virtual nurse, is a registered nurse who provides healthcare services, support, and education to patients through digital platforms rather than in person. They may handle duties such as triaging patient concerns, providing medical advice, coordinating care, and monitoring patient progress via phone, video calls, or online messaging. This role leverages technology to deliver quality nursing care to patients from a distance, often allowing nurses to work from home while maintaining high standards of patient support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote work nurse?

Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication tools is typically required. These skills are vital for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance, and maintaining efficiency in a virtual healthcare environment.
