Job description

Our client scales growth channels for some of the world's top education and consumer brands. But more importantly, they only work with good people.

They believe digital-first work has the unique potential to unlock growth, connection, craft, and freedom. Their mission is to bring that potential to life for their team and clients. They deliver measurable long-term growth outcomes, act as an extension of in-house teams, and turn data into insight. This has led to high-profile industry awards, including Search Engine Land's Boutique SEO Agency of the Year and Globe and Mail's Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies.

Our client is hiring a Partnerships Lead to help build one of their most important growth channels. This is a full-time, remote-first position for candidates residing in either Vancouver or Toronto (and surrounding areas).

High Level

We're looking for a talented Partnerships Lead who believes the best business development doesn't start with cold outreach. It starts with relationships. You'll identify strategic partners, build executive relationships, organize co-marketing initiatives, support business development conversations, and create repeatable partnership programs that generate high-quality opportunities for our team.

This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up. If you're energized by connecting people, creating new opportunities, and thinking strategically about how businesses grow together, we'd love to meet you. This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Responsibilities

Partnership Strategy & Development: You identify, prioritize, and develop strategic partnerships that align with our long-term growth strategy. You own the full partnership lifecycle from initial outreach and discovery to pilot initiatives and long-term relationship management.

Relationship Management: You build trusted relationships with executives, partnership leaders, and business development teams. You're comfortable leading discovery conversations, identifying mutual value, and developing partnership plans that create long-term success for both organizations. You proactively maintain partner relationships through regular check-ins, quarterly reviews, and collaborative planning.

Business Development: You help convert partnerships into commercial opportunities. You'll run discovery conversations with potential clients, identify opportunities that fit our capabilities, and coordinate closely with our proposal team to move qualified opportunities through the sales process.

Events & Market Presence: You help increase our visibility by organizing and participating in executive dinners, conferences, partner events, webinars, and community initiatives.

AI Leverage: You use our AI systems and workflows to accelerate research, prospecting, meeting preparation, relationship management, and partnership planning. You understand how to combine AI efficiency with thoughtful relationship-building and sound commercial judgment.

Qualifications

The right person has 3–6+ years' experience (or equivalent skills) in partnerships, business development, agency growth, or ecosystem development.

You likely have experience in several of the following:

Strategic partnerships, business development, executive relationship management, digital marketing or marketing technology, discovery and consultative sales conversations, event planning or community building, account management, CRM management and pipeline development, cross-functional project management, strong written and verbal communication.

Bonus Points

Experience working in a digital agency; experience with SEO, paid media, analytics, or website development; experience with HubSpot or modern CRM systems; experience with Notion; experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.); existing relationships within marketing agencies or technology companies; experience organizing executive events or conferences; familiarity with the Shopify ecosystem; experience working with private equity or portfolio companies.

Compensation & Perks

We know our people are our greatest asset, and we prioritize creating an environment where you can thrive both professionally and personally. We believe in enabling our team through flexible work practices, individualized career paths, and team-wide learning.

The estimated compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000 CAD annually, depending on experience, skills, and market location. We also offer performance incentives tied to partnership and commercial growth.

Other benefits include:

  • Flexible Work Hours: A remote-first, asynchronous work environment with a 34- to 39-hour work week.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus an HSA account.
  • Remote Wellness Support: A remote wellness budget to prioritize your remote work setup and well-being.
  • Generous Time Off: 3.5 weeks' vacation + one additional day every year, winter holiday closure, plus unlimited sick days.
  • Professional Development: A learning budget to support your career growth and skill-building.
  • Team Retreats: Two company-wide retreats ("Bursts") annually.

Hiring Process

We believe great work necessitates diverse perspectives and we take an inclusive approach to our workplace environment and hiring practices.

Although our process is subject to change based on availability and specific candidate circumstances, here is generally what you can expect if you apply:

  • 15-minute phone screen & 45 min to 60 min interview with Junction Collective
  • 60–90-minute video call with the hiring manager
  • Partnership strategy exercise
  • 60-minute video call with a member of the leadership team
  • Reference checks (minimum of three references from the past three years)
