Job description

Company Description

The Opportunity
We've guided over 20,000 people to transform their relationship with food and their health and we're targeting 100,000 over the next five years. We're expanding into medically supported weight loss, which pairs pharmacotherapy with structured nutritional management. We're looking for empathetic and clinically-minded dietitians ready to lead that shift.

As a Dietitian Health Coach at Best10, you'll do more than give advice. You'll show up for clients on their hardest days and their best ones. Your role sits at the intersection of medical weight management and evidence-based nutrition coaching. If you believe nutrition science only works when you deliver it with genuine human connection and medical weight loss excites you, we'd love to chat!

Job Description

As a dietitian health coach, you will serve as the backbone of our client experience. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure every client feels supported, empowered and on track to achieve their weight loss goals. You'll interact virtually with clients, combining technical expertise with a personalised touch. You will:

  • Manage a caseload of clients through our CRM and WhatsApp-integrated communication system.

  • Support clients on medically supported weight loss journeys and coordinate nutritional management alongside their prescribed treatment and doctor.
  • Write or create personalised, motivational client content grounded in evidence.

  • Conduct onboarding and follow-up goal setting calls with clients.

  • Track client progress and adjust guidance accordingly.

  • Remember what matters to your clients by using our note-taking platform.

  • Guide clients through real clinical complexity: weight management alongside hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pre-diabetes and diabetes.

This role demands high-touch, high-volume, clinically grounded coaching. Bring as much organisation as you bring empathy.

Qualifications

Required

  • BSc in Dietetics or BDietetics (4 years study + 1 year community service)

  • Current HPCSA registration as an independent practising dietitian

  • A passion for all things health and fitness

Preferred but not required

  • Experience in medical weight loss or obesity pharmacotherapy

  • Experience or training in behaviour change, particularly technology-mediated coaching

  • Experience managing overweight, obesity and related chronic conditions (hypertension, CVD, pre-diabetes, diabetes)

The intangibles that matter most

  • You communicate consistently and warmly, both over text and video

  • You hold structure and empathy at once

  • You work independently and sustain momentum without daily oversight

  • Routine energises you rather than drains you

Additional Information

Training & Development

You don't need obesity-medicine experience on day one. As part of onboarding, Best10 fully funds your place on the SCOPE Core Learning Path (World Obesity Federation). Onboarding and training typically take 1-2 weeks before you work with clients independently.

The Practical Details

  • Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:00-18:00 (two 1-hour lunch breaks), Friday 08:00-17:00 (one 1-hour lunch break). We keep these fixed and this role suits someone who wants structure, not flexible or part-time work.

  • Contract: 6 months

  • Location: Fully remote, South Africa

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • We fully fund your SCOPE certification (World Obesity Federation) as part of onboarding

  • We cover HPCSA registration fees (applicable at renewal time)

  • In-house CPD point initiatives

  • The chance to shape medical weight loss from the ground floor as we build out this offering

  • A Vitality partnership that connects your work to one of South Africa's most established wellness ecosystems

  • A genuinely collaborative team of dietitians, not a solo remote role

  • A company culture built around shared wins, not just individual targets
