Position Overview

Empathy Edge Psychological Services is seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health status and needs.
• Deliver personalized therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), ensuring clients receive care tailored to their individual needs.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and client feedback.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and progress in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and educators, to enhance clients’ therapeutic experience and address any barriers they may face.
• Provide crisis intervention services as required and ensure clients have access to necessary resources.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development opportunities to ensure the highest standards of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will be serving include individuals from diverse backgrounds facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders, often sustained during challenging life transitions. Empathy Edge is particularly dedicated to supporting students and families, providing therapy services funded by schools, which allows for a focus on therapeutic interventions without the burden of insurance billing.

Qualifications

• A master’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• An active, state-issued license in social work (LCSW), marriage and family therapy (LMFT), professional counseling (LPC), or psychology (PsyD, PhD) allowing for unsupervised practice.
• Minimum of two years of experience providing clinical psychotherapy to adults, including demonstrable skills in treatment planning and implementing therapeutic interventions.
• Exceptional documentation skills and proficiency in conducting thorough intake assessments.
• A clean professional record with no disciplinary actions from any licensing boards.
• Licensed to practice within the state of Oregon.

Preferred Experience

• Strong background in evidence-based practices, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and relational approaches.
• Experience working with adolescent populations and their families.
• Knowledge of school-based mental health programs and familiarity with community resources.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to a strong salary structure, we provide the following benefits:
