Position Overview

The South Coast Psychotherapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed clinical social worker to join our dynamic team. This full-time position allows for remote work while providing critical support in hospice settings. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about helping individuals facing challenging life situations, such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health issues, and parental substance abuse. You will play a pivotal role in assessing clients, facilitating referrals to additional services, and providing crisis interventions that directly impact the quality of care for our clients.

Work Environment

This role is designed to be fully remote, allowing you to manage your professional responsibilities from the comfort of your home while engaging with clients through both telephonic and video interfaces. You will operate under a structured schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, ensuring that you maintain a work-life balance while delivering essential support and guidance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients through phone calls and virtual meetings to provide counseling services tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients, gathering comprehensive and relevant information to understand their needs and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Offer crisis intervention support, maintaining a calm demeanor during high-stress situations to help clients navigate their challenges.
  • Develop treatment plans that prioritize the unique needs of clients, integrating their strengths into the recovery process.
  • Make referrals to external agencies and services, ensuring clients have access to all necessary resources.
  • Keep meticulous records and prepare detailed reports to track client progress and outcomes.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to enhance your skills and knowledge base.
  • Monitor for and report any signs of child abuse or neglect, implementing the necessary protocols to safeguard vulnerable individuals.
  • Encourage clients to engage in beneficial activities, promoting holistic well-being.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals in hospice care, many of whom face significant emotional and psychological challenges. You will support clients and their families dealing with grief, loss, and complex psychological distress. Your expertise will enable these individuals to find stability and direction during their most challenging moments.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is essential.
  • Current state licensure as a clinical social worker is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically to client needs.
  • Proficient with technology, including the use of counseling software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and video conferencing tools.
  • A valid driver's license, as some positions may involve occasional travel for client or agency meetings.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working within a hospice setting or with clients facing end-of-life issues is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and the ability to apply them effectively in real-time situations.
  • Experience in making assessments and developing treatment plans tailored to clients with complex social needs.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
