Job description

Data & Process Automation Analyst (Contract)
Our client, a leading financial services organization within Alternative Investments operations, is seeking multiple contract resources to support operational automation, reconciliation, and data process improvement initiatives across accounting and fund operations teams.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical, technology-minded problem solver who enjoys improving operational workflows, working with large datasets, and automating manual processes within a fast-paced financial operations environment.
The primary focus will be supporting automation and reconciliation initiatives tied to the Xceptor platform, helping the business manage and process high volumes of operational and accounting data more efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support operational automation and process improvement initiatives across Alternative Investments accounting and operations teams
  • Work closely with Client Stakeholders on reconciliation and workflow automation efforts within the Xceptor platform
  • Monitor and organize operational inbox tracking workflows and data intake processes
  • Utilize Xceptor to extract, process, reconcile, and manage high volumes of financial and operational data
  • Input and validate data within Xceptor and support downstream imports into the AltPro system
  • Perform data mapping and reconciliation between systems where naming conventions and identifiers may differ
  • Analyze highly manual operational processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
  • Build and maintain Excel-based automation tools, reconciliation workflows, formulas, and macros
  • Assist with operational reporting and reconciliation support for portfolio/accounting processes
  • Collaborate directly with business and accounting users to improve workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Operate independently while proactively identifying process bottlenecks and proposing scalable solutions


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Excel skills including:
    • advanced formulas
    • data manipulation
    • reconciliation
    • pivot tables
    • Macros/VBA
  • Experience with process automation or workflow improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with operational data ingestion and mapping across systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with large datasets and operational workflows
  • Ability to learn complex business processes quickly
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and figuring things out independently
  • Strong attention to detail and process orientation
  • Ability to bridge operational/business needs with technical solutions
  • Self-starter mentality with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in high-volume, deadline-driven operational environments


Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Financial services, accounting, treasury, or fund operations experience
  • Reconciliation or portfolio accounting exposure
  • Experience with Xceptor (Acceptor), Geneva, AltPro, or similar financial operations platforms
