JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Senior Tax Specialist position in the General Tax Administration Program's, Audit Process. The incumbent supports the audit process in completing sales and use tax audits, and provides technical assistance and guidance to audit staff. This position also develops, maintains, and delivers educational and training courses. Duties may include reviewing audits for quality control; assisting with audits; providing feedback to improve audit procedures; preparing presentations on tax law and audit procedures; developing job aids and other resources for audit staff; designing and delivering audit training; developing surveys to measure learner satisfaction and course effectiveness; facilitating training through web conferencing platforms and in classroom settings; and creating or converting auditor training content into engaging, interactive formats for remote, live, online, and self-study delivery. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  • Two years and six months of experience in the compliance audit process performing sales and use tax audits.
  • Experience training others.

PREFERENCES: 

  • Six months of experience as a Tax Auditor IV or Tax Auditor V. 

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • For applicants with a current CAD, the CAD will be added to the salary amount.
  • This position requires use of your personal vehicle to conduct work assignments.
  • This position may require travel which may include multiple overnight stays.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $5,327.09 monthly/$63,925.08 annually.
