The Graphic Designer plays a vital role in shaping and elevating the American Cancer Society brand through compelling, high-quality visuals across digital and traditional platforms. Success in this role means bringing a strong design sensibility to every project and delivering creative that is consistent, innovative, and unmistakably on brand.
A key part of this position is understanding how creative performs in paid environments-designing thumb stopping, high impact assets that break through the noise, capture attention quickly, and reinforce brand recognition across social, display, and other paid channels. The designer should be fluent in platform nuances, performance best practices, and the visual behaviors that influence audience engagement.
This role requires a well-rounded creator who can move seamlessly between digital and print formats, ensuring every idea comes to life in a way that strengthens the ACS brand, connects with audiences, and inspires action. As a core member of the creative team, the designer collaborates across disciplines to keep design fresh, relevant, and cohesive-advancing a unified brand identity across all touchpoints.
***This is a fully remote position that can be home-based anywhere within the United States.***

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Designs engaging visual assets across digital platforms(social, web, video, display) and select print formats (posters, flyers, signage), ensuring all deliverables are audiencefocused, on strategy, and unmistakably on brand. Leverages deep knowledge of the paid social space to create thumbstopping, platformspecific creativeoptimizedfor performance and brand recognition.(35%)

Produces final deliverables across formats, including HTML5 ads, animated graphics, social content, and printready files-preparing assets to meet technical specifications, platform requirements, and best practices for paid and organic environments.(20%)

Develops creative concepts in collaboration with art directors, copywriters, and crossfunctional partners, contributing innovative ideas that support integrated campaigns, brand storytelling, and highperforming paid media executions.(20%)

Ensures all design work meets project requirements-on time, onbrief, on budget, and aligned to brand standards, accessibility best practices, and performance considerations.(10%)

Maintains a cohesive brand identity across digital and print channels, strengthening consistency, visual recognition, and creative effectiveness across both organic and paid content.(10%)

Manages multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines while adapting to feedback, datadriven insights, and evolving creative direction.(5%)

EXPERIENCE &QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional design experience with a strong emphasis on digital media. Experience in an agency or in-house creative team is preferred, and a portfoliodemonstratingmulti-channel execution isrequired.

  • Minimum Degree Required:Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Preferred Degree:Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or Digital Mediawith coursework in multimedia/interactive design.

  • Certificate(s) or License(s):Nonerequired; certification in Adobe Creative Suite, UX/UI, HTMLproficiency.

  • Proficiencyin Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and Figma or similar digital design tools.

  • Working knowledge of HTML5 and production for digital deliverables (banner ads, social animations, responsive assets).
