What is a remote weapons tester?

A Remote Weapons Tester is a professional responsible for evaluating and verifying the performance, safety, and reliability of weapons systems using remote or automated technologies. They operate and monitor weapons from a distance, often utilizing specialized equipment, computer interfaces, and data analysis tools. This role is crucial for ensuring that advanced weaponry meets military or law enforcement standards without exposing testers to unnecessary risk. Remote Weapons Testers may work with unmanned systems, drones, guided missiles, or other remotely operated weapon platforms. Their work can include conducting live-fire tests, system diagnostics, and reporting results for further development or deployment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote weapons tester?

To thrive as a Remote Weapons Tester, you need expertise in weapons systems, safety protocols, and technical analysis, typically supported by a background in engineering, military science, or a related technical field.
