Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to create individualized mental health treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct mental health in-service training sessions for medical, psychiatric, and security staff to ensure a seamless integration of care.
  • Actively intervene during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies.
  • Attend commitment hearings as necessary, advocating for patient rights and managing legal documentation.
  • Document all patient interactions meticulously, maintaining detailed records that ensure continuity of care.
  • Safeguard confidential patient information following HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
  • Verify past mental health histories of patients, including medication records, to inform treatment decisions.
  • Prepare monthly reports and special documentation to communicate patient progress effectively to the team.
  • Collaborate with nursing and mental health staff to develop post-release referral connections for patients.
