Job Summary:As a Senior Cyber SecurityManager,you'llbe leading a newly created observability and vulnerability management team for Rackspace. Not only is thisisa newteam,but they are using recently added tools tovalidatetrue exposure of our networks and platforms.We're in need of a strongand verystrategic engineering minded leader to grow and mature this team.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Lead technical teams responsible for security engineering, security operations tooling, vulnerability management, detection engineering, incident investigation, or infrastructure/cloud security.

  • Manage oroperateenterprise security tools such as EDR, NDR, IDPS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, exposure management platforms, SIEM/SOAR integrations, cloud security tooling, asset inventory/CAASM, and security monitoring platforms.

  • Assess whether security toolsare deployedcorrectly, producing expected telemetry, integrated with downstream platforms, tuned appropriately, and delivering intended security outcomes.

  • Translate technical findings into operational plans, remediation priorities, risk decisions, and executive-level reporting.

  • Providetechnical guidance to employees,colleaguesand/or customers.

  • Prioritize customer needs and satisfaction through collaborative andproactiveproblem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to customer success.

  • Quickly adapt and respond to dynamic customer needs and expectations through innovative solutions.

  • Participate in business continuity planning, data lossprevention,and fraud prevention.

  • Identifysecurity architecture, protection goals,objectivesand metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.

  • Manage the development and implementation of global security policy, standards,guidelines,and procedures to ensure ongoingmaintenance ofsecurity.

  • Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches andassistwith disciplinary and legal matters associated with suchbreachesas necessary.

  • Workwith outside consultants asappropriate forindependent security audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical disciplinerequired.

  • CISSP, CISM, CRISC, OSCP, GPEN, or equivalent certification desirable.

  • Experience leading and directing, related to planning, developing and implementation of technical security systems,controlsand practices.

  • 10+ years of relevant technical work experiencerequired.

  • 4+ years of relevant technical management experiencerequired.

  • Experience owning enterprise security tools, vulnerability management programs, operational metrics, vendor relationships, and cross-functional remediation outcomesrequired.

  • Hands-ontechnical security depthisrequired; candidates should be able to evaluate whether security tools are properly deployed, integrated, tuned,monitored, and delivering expected coverage and risk reduction outcomes.

  • Havestrong understanding of vulnerability management lifecycle practices, including asset discovery, authenticated scanning, vulnerability validation,CVSS/EPSS/exploitability-basedprioritization, remediation tracking, exception management, SLA governance, and executive reporting.

Work Location/Travel:

  • Iflocatedin San Antonio, TXyou'llwork a hybrid schedule with 2 days in our office, and three days remotely.

  • Iflocatedoutside of San Antonio, TX you may work 100% remotely.

  • Infrequent travel mayberequired(Between 0 - 10% annually).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The compensation range for this position ranges from $148,011.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to 217,082.80 USD/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
