Job description

Skillforce is hiring experienced MIG Welders and Metal Fabricators to support production at a well-established power equipment manufacturer in Henrico, VA. You will be fabricating metal enclosures and structural assemblies for industrial power systems using MIG and other welding processes. Pay is up to $32/hr based on your skillset and experience.


Welder Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate metal enclosures, frames, and structural components from raw materials using MIG welding as the primary process
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications
  • Set up and operate welding machinery, grinders, and fabrication equipment required for assigned tasks
  • Select appropriate welding materials, rods, and consumables based on job requirements
  • Conduct visual inspections of finished welds to ensure structural integrity, quality standards, and customer specifications are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with all shop safety protocols

Welder Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on welding/fabrication experience required
  • Proficient MIG welding is required — this is the primary process used on the job
  • TIG welding experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of craftsmanship
  • Your own reliable transportation and valid driver's license
