AspectRemote Visual Foxpro DeveloperRemote SQL Developer
Required SkillsVisual FoxPro, database management, programmingSQL, database design, query optimization
Work EnvironmentRemote, primarily software development and maintenanceRemote, database development and management
Industry UsageLegacy systems, software applicationsData management, analytics, enterprise systems

Both roles often require database knowledge and remote work setup. The choice depends on whether the employer needs legacy system support or modern database solutions.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Visual Foxpro Developers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Visual Foxpro Developers often encounter challenges related to legacy code maintenance and integration with newer technologies. Since Visual Foxpro is a discontinued product, documentation and community support can be limited, requiring strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness. Effective communication with team members is essential, as remote environments can make collaboration more challenging, especially when clarifying requirements or coordinating code changes. To succeed, developers should proactively document their work, leverage online forums, and maintain clear communication channels with clients and colleagues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Visual Foxpro Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Visual Foxpro Developer, you need strong programming skills in Visual Foxpro, database management, and a solid background in software development principles, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related experience. Familiarity with legacy systems, version control tools like Git, and integration with SQL Server or other databases is often required. Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and communication skills are crucial for effective remote collaboration and troubleshooting. These skills ensure the ability to maintain, upgrade, and support critical legacy applications efficiently while working independently.

What is a Remote Visual FoxPro Developer?

A Remote Visual FoxPro Developer is a software professional who specializes in building, maintaining, and upgrading applications using Microsoft's Visual FoxPro programming language, often working from a remote location. Their responsibilities typically include database management, bug fixing, code optimization, and migrating legacy systems to newer platforms. They collaborate with clients or teams online, leveraging their expertise in Visual FoxPro to support business applications that rely on this technology. Since Visual FoxPro is a legacy language, these developers are particularly valuable for organizations with existing FoxPro applications that require ongoing support or modernization.

Job description

About Runlayer
AI is transforming how every company operates, but most enterprises are stuck. They want to move fast with AI Agents, tools, and workflows, but they can't do it safely. We're fixing that.
Our team built AI Actions for OpenAI, shipped Zapier Agents to millions of users, and launched the first remote MCP server with Anthropic. We helped establish the protocol, and now we're building the platform enterprises need to actually put MCP to work.
Runlayer is one platform for MCPs, Skills, and Agents: purpose-built security, fine-grained governance, and complete observability so organizations can go all-in on AI across the entire company without the risk. We just raised a $30M Series A led by Felicis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, bringing our total raised to $42M. Already trusted by Gusto, Instacart, Opendoor, dbt Labs, Cursor, and Decagon.
We're a team of 35, mostly engineers, shipping fast. Agent operators on Runlayer grew 5x in four weeks while human operators stayed flat. The shift to agentic work is already showing up in our own usage.
About the Role
As our Creative Director, you'll own video, motion, and visual storytelling across Runlayer. You'll create launch videos, product explainers, and demo content while overseeing case study production with external vendors. This is a hands-on role: you push pixels, not just strategy.
Why You'll Thrive Here
  • Impact: Define the visual language of the enterprise AI control plane at a critical inflection point
  • Excellence: Work alongside our renowned product designer from Square and Meta Reels, and founders who care deeply about craft
  • Ownership: Own all video and motion output, from quick explainers to polished customer stories

What You'll Do
  • Create launch videos, product demos, and narrative explainer videos (think Servo-style, not high production live action)
  • Design and produce motion graphics for product releases, features, and campaigns
  • Oversee external vendors on customer case studies and testimonials
  • Push pixels on web: landing pages, campaign assets, visual identity extensions
  • Establish the motion and video language that scales as we build out the marketing team

What We're Looking For
  • Strong motion design and video production skills. You can concept, design, and ship a launch video yourself.
  • Interaction design sensibility: you understand product and can translate features into compelling visual stories
  • Experience with demo videos, explainer content, and product storytelling (not just brand spots)
  • Proficiency in motion tools (After Effects, etc.) and design tools (Figma)
  • Ability to direct external video crews and vendors for higher-production content
  • Taste. You know the difference between forgettable B2B video and content that actually lands.

Bonus Qualifications
  • Background in tech, developer tools, or enterprise SaaS
  • Experience at a high-craft consumer brand (Nike, Apple, etc.) or design-forward startup
  • Web design chops in addition to motion

What We Offer
We provide a competitive package designed to attract and retain top talent who can work effectively with enterprise customers.
  • Competitive salary and equity - compensation that reflects your expertise and customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Paid time off - paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave.
  • Professional development - budget for conferences, courses, and certifications in AI, enterprise software, and customer success.
  • Top-tier equipment - your choice of laptop and accessories to create your ideal work environment.
  • Health benefits - comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Customer interaction opportunities - work directly with innovative companies and see the immediate impact of your work.
