This contract role involves working closely with a single student who is blind and receiving educational services in a virtual setting. Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Occupational Therapist license (verification required upon submission)
- Previous school-based OT experience preferred
- Skilled in supporting students with disabilities, particularly within educational environments
- Professional background in collaborating with SLPs, special education teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in delivering OT services virtually and providing remote consultation or coordinating care
- Familiarity with strategies and accommodations for students who are blind or visually impaired is highly desirable
- Outstanding communication and documentation abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide a mix of direct occupational therapy and consultative services tailored to the student’s needs
- Coordinate with the virtual educational team to align therapy with SLP and special education sessions
- Develop and implement accommodations and strategies that promote student success and independence
- Ensure accurate documentation and clear communication with families and team members
- Promptly communicate any schedule changes
- Adhere to all district credentialing and background check requirements and uphold active licensure
