Job description

AI-Native React Engineer – Embeddable Widgets & AI-Powered Frontends (Greenfield)
Remote (US-based)

  • Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $140,000–$210,000 base (higher possible for exceptional agentic-native candidates)
  • Reports to: VP of Engineering (direct CEO visibility)

OVERVIEW:

  • This is a greenfield frontend engineering role focused on building a composable React widget framework and embeddable, data-rich frontend experiences powered by AI
  • The company is a profitable, owner-operated platform transforming complex property and public records data into actionable insights for small businesses. The team is investing heavily in a modern frontend and data platform to support its next stage of growth
  • The engineering culture is AI-first and agentic-native, with Cursor as the primary development environment. Engineers are expected to use AI agents as a core part of their workflow to achieve significantly higher development velocity—not just occasional AI-assisted coding

ROLE OVERVIEW:

  • You will lead the design and development of a composable widget system that can be embedded across multiple environments (iframes, web components, shadow DOM, sandboxed contexts)
  • You will define architecture, component models, and developer experience for a new frontend platform while working closely with executive leadership on product direction and tradeoffs

WHAT YOU’LL BUILD:

  • A composable React widget framework for embeddable environments
  • Data-rich UI experiences (property profiles, owner views, interactive maps, lead workflows)
  • AI-powered frontend features integrated with LLMs for data exploration and user workflows
  • A reusable component library with strong UX, accessibility, and developer usability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement a scalable React + TypeScript widget framework
  • Build data-heavy UIs (tables, filters, maps, pagination, sorting)
  • Integrate REST and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Design for sandboxed embedding environments (iframes, CSP, host-guest communication)
  • Own architecture decisions and system design for frontend platform
  • Collaborate closely with leadership on scope, tradeoffs, and roadmap
  • Ensure performance, UX quality, and maintainability at scale

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Strong experience with React + TypeScript at scale
  • Experience building data-heavy, complex frontend applications
  • Experience with embeddable or widget-based systems (or similar architecture work)
  • Experience with sandboxed iframe environments and CSP considerations
  • Strong understanding of API integration (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • Ability to operate in high-ownership, ambiguous, greenfield environments
  • Experience using modern frontend tooling (Tailwind, component libraries, etc.)
  • Strong communication and product thinking

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Must have experience building and shipping applications serving thousands to millions of users, with the ability to clearly describe the product(s) worked on and specific technical contributions (e.g., architecture, features, performance, and impact at scale)

AGENTIC / AI-NATIVE REQUIREMENT:

  • Cursor (or similar tools) used as primary development environment
  • Experience using AI tools to meaningfully accelerate engineering output
  • Clear understanding of agent workflows, task decomposition, and review practices
  • Ability to combine human judgment with AI-driven development workflows

BONUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Embeddable / white-label widget systems
  • Mapbox, Leaflet, or Google Maps
  • Real estate / property tech platforms
  • Design systems or component library architecture
  • Experience transitioning teams into AI-first engineering workflows
