How much do remote vhdl jobs jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 15, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote vhdl jobs in the United States is $76,639.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $45,500.00 and $130,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How do remote VHDL engineers typically collaborate with hardware and software teams during a project?

Remote VHDL engineers often use version control systems, collaborative design tools, and video conferencing to stay connected with hardware and software teams. Regular virtual meetings help align on design specifications, integration timelines, and troubleshooting tasks. Clear documentation and frequent updates are essential for smooth collaboration, ensuring that all team members—regardless of location—are on the same page throughout the hardware development lifecycle.

What is the difference between Remote Vhdl Jobs vs FPGA Design Engineer?

AspectRemote Vhdl JobsFPGA Design Engineer
Required credentialsVHDL certification, FPGA knowledgeVHDL, FPGA design certifications
Work environmentRemote, flexibleOn-site or hybrid, engineering labs
Industry usageElectronics, telecommunications, aerospaceElectronics, defense, embedded systems
Search intentRemote FPGA development jobsFPGA design roles

Remote Vhdl Jobs typically refer to positions focused on VHDL hardware description language work that can be performed remotely, often in electronics or telecommunications industries. FPGA Design Engineer roles may involve similar skills but often require on-site work or hybrid setups, especially for hands-on hardware development. Both roles share overlapping credentials and industry usage, but their work environments and search intents differ slightly, with Remote Vhdl Jobs emphasizing remote flexibility.

What are Remote VHDL jobs?

Remote VHDL jobs are positions where professionals use VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Description Language) to design, simulate, and verify digital circuits and systems, all while working from a remote location. These roles are typically found in industries like electronics, aerospace, telecommunications, and semiconductors. Remote VHDL engineers collaborate with teams online, using specialized software tools to develop FPGA or ASIC designs. This arrangement allows for flexibility in work location and can open opportunities with companies worldwide.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote VHDL jobs, and why are they important?

To excel in remote VHDL jobs, a solid understanding of digital design principles, VHDL programming, and a degree in electrical or computer engineering are essential. Familiarity with FPGA development tools (such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus), simulation software, and version control systems is typically required. Strong self-motivation, attention to detail, and effective remote communication skills make candidates stand out in distributed teams. These competencies are crucial for delivering high-quality hardware designs, meeting project deadlines, and collaborating efficiently in a remote work environment.

Job description

Computer Engineering - AI Data Trainer
  • Location: Remote
About the job
At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models.
You'll challenge advanced language models on topics like computer architecture and hardware design, embedded systems and IoT, networking and distributed systems, hardware security, and systems software and operating systems-documenting every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.
Organization
: Alignerr
Position
: Computer Engineering - AI Data Trainer
Type
: Hourly Contract
Compensation
: $35-$60 /hour
Location
: Remote
Commitment
: 10-40 hours/week
What You'll Do:
  • Develop Complex Problems: Design advanced computer engineering challenges across domains like RISC-V/ARM architecture, FPGA development, memory management, and hardware-software co-design.
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions: Create rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions, including assembly code, hardware description language (HDL) snippets, and architectural diagrams that serve as "golden responses" for AI training.
  • Technical Auditing: Evaluate AI-generated code (C/C++, Verilog, VHDL), logic gate designs, and operating system kernels for technical accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Refine Reasoning: Identify logical fallacies in AI reasoning-such as race conditions, memory leaks, or improper timing constraints-and provide structured feedback to improve the model's "thinking" process.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Degree: Masters (pursuing or completed) or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science with a hardware focus, or a closely related field.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge in core areas such as Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Digital Logic Design, or Operating Systems.
  • Analytical Writing: The ability to communicate highly technical hardware concepts and low-level software logic clearly and concisely in written form.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision when checking bit-level operations, clock-cycle timing, and technical documentation.
  • No AI experience required
Preferred
:
  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
  • Proficiency in engineering software concepts (e.g., SolidWorks, MATLAB, ANSYS) to evaluate AI-generated code or workflows.
