Position Overview

Public Health Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote role will allow you to provide critical mental health services to individuals, couples, and families seeking help in navigating their mental and emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial client assessments through detailed interviews, documenting the mental health history and ongoing treatment throughout the therapeutic process.
• Evaluate the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of clients to identify areas of need and tailor interventions effectively.
• Design individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices that accommodate the unique challenges faced by clients.
• Facilitate engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various methodologies suited to different client needs.
• Continuously monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies, ensuring that clients are on track towards their mental health goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and primary care providers, to enhance holistic treatment approaches for patients with complex needs.
• Proactively assist and educate family members and caregivers on ways to support their loved ones in overcoming mental health challenges.
• Manage client referrals as necessary, connecting clients with additional resources or specialists to aid in their recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse range of clients, including adults, adolescents, couples, and families coming from various cultural backgrounds. Many individuals served may present with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your cultural competence and understanding of different mental health conditions will be essential in providing appropriate interventions tailored to each client.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon.
• A pass score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, particularly within community health settings.
• A background in managing and treating various emotional and behavioral health conditions, including addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• An understanding of psychopharmacology and its impact on mental health treatment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, along with additional incentives including a sign-on bonus.
