Under general supervision, the Software Engineer III is responsible for applying advanced programming techniques to develop, enhance, and support ServiceNow solutions, integrations, and workflow automations. This position documents programs, develops and implements new features, and supports critical platform architecture and other digital initiatives. Experience with Now Assist, Generative AI, AI Agents, Virtual Agent, and Predictive Intelligence is preferred, with the ideal candidate being a strong problem solver that has a passion for delivering innovative, AI-driven service management solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to architectural decisions for platform enhancements, automation solutions, and integrations; evaluate trade-offs for scalability, performance, maintainability, and security
  • Collaborate with product teams, business stakeholders, platform administrators, and cross-functional partners during the story refinement process to ensure high-quality requirements and achievable solutions
  • Develop and implement process automation using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Workflow Studio, and ServiceNow AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency and service delivery
  • Create and enhance software features, integrations, and workflows by implementing secure, efficient, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Leverage Now Assist, Generative AI, AI Agents, Agent Studio, Virtual Agent, and Predictive Intelligence capabilities to improve productivity, knowledge management, incident resolution, and service delivery
  • Implement and maintain integrations and web services using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, and Import Sets to connect ServiceNow with third-party tools and enterprise systems
  • Configure, optimize, and support core ServiceNow capabilities, including ITSM (Incident, Change, and Problem Management), Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Request Management, workflow automation, and related platform modules
  • Analyze complex technical issues and bottlenecks; troubleshoot production issues, resolve defects, and implement effective, scalable, and sustainable solutions
  • Mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, drive adoption of ServiceNow best practices and governance standards, participate in platform upgrades and release activities, and consistently deliver solutions on time with minimal defects

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, or related field, or foreign equivalent with 4 years of experience in software engineering or related field, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training
  • AND Demonstration of the following
  • Experience effectively participating in the software design process
  • Ability to complete tasks with a high quality of work in a timely manner
  • Professional experience leveraging an object-oriented language, such as Java or .NET/.netcore to implement RESTful and/or event driven architectures
  • Professional experience implementing web and/or mobile interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, such asAngular and React Native
  • Professional experience interacting with and managing the performance of relational, NoSQL, and Graph databases
  • Familiarity with cloud-based containerization and continuous integration/delivery strategies
  • Experience in software troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with ITSM, Incident Management, Change Management, ITOM, and Software Asset Management (SAM)
  • Experience configuring workflows, forms, business rules, client scripts, catalogs, and CMDB-related solutions
  • Proficiency in Glide APIs, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP integrations, and ServiceNow platform customization
  • Demonstrated experience with Now Assist for ITSM, Knowledge Management, Incident Summarization, Case Summarization, and Generative AI features within ServiceNow
  • Ability to identify and implement AI-driven solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and service delivery outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with AI Agent Studio, AI Agents, Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, Machine Learning, and intelligent workflow automation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business requirements and deliver effective ServiceNow solutions
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
