Remote Ux Design information

What is a remote UX design?

A Remote UX Design job involves designing user experiences for digital products while working from a remote location. UX designers focus on user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. They collaborate with teams using digital tools like Figma, Sketch, or Miro to ensure seamless communication. Remote UX designers must have strong communication skills and self-discipline to manage projects efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote UX design?

To excel as a Remote UX Designer, a solid background in user experience principles, interaction design, and proficiency with wireframing and prototyping is essential, often supported by a degree in design or related fields. Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and usability testing platforms, as well as certifications such as the Nielsen Norman UX Certification, are commonly valued. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for remote teamwork and stakeholder engagement. These abilities ensure effective, user-centered design solutions while maintaining productivity in a distributed work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote UX designers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote UX designers often encounter challenges such as collaborating across time zones, maintaining clear communication with team members, and gathering user feedback without in-person interactions. These obstacles can be managed by leveraging digital collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and shared prototyping platforms, as well as scheduling regular check-ins and virtual workshops. Additionally, documenting design decisions and user research findings in a centralized location helps keep everyone aligned. Emphasizing proactive communication and creating structured routines contribute to a productive and connected remote UX team.

Job description

Company Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We're a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property and places. Our solutions foster the collaboration that's critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

Department OverviewMotorola Solutions is a recognized global leader in Enterprise Security & Resilience software, offering a next-generation cloud platform that empowers organizations to navigate risks, disruptions, and crises with confidence. Our technology unifies critical functions - risk intelligence, security operations, crisis & emergency management, and business continuity - into a single, powerful platform.
We are building the "digital brain" of the modern Security Operations Center (SOC). While competitors focus on better detection, our platform automates the decision loop. We are seeking a product leader to define the future of Agentic AI in physical security-moving the industry from reactive monitoring to proactive, automated resilience.
You will own the roadmap for a new cloud-native intelligence platform that unifies video, access control, and critical communications. As well as automating detection and verification, its agents augment SOC teams through proactive coordination of security incident responses, orchestrating devices and inputs at scale whilst collaborating with human operators.
Job Description

In this role, you'll take ownership across the full product lifecycle - shaping strategy, engaging with customers, driving execution, and delivering product features that lead the market. You'll collaborate closely with senior management, fellow product managers, UX designers, engineering, sales, customer success, and professional services teams to shape and deliver best-in-class product experiences.

You'll be responsible for engaging directly with customers and sales people, and researching and analysing the market and competitors, to drive the creation of differentiated value in your product. You will gather and prioritize product ideas, maintain strategic roadmaps, and define requirements and features. You will work closely with our engineering, AI and UX teams to drive feature design and development. The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker, a collaborative product manager with experience in visual AI, and with excellent UX design instincts.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 8+ years in Product Management, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML products, Workflow Automation, or Robotics.

  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of SOC/GSOC environments or high-tempo operations centers (e.g., logistics, 911 dispatch, IT NOC). (You understand "alert fatigue" and "time-to-resolution)

  • Technical Fluency: Experience with Vision Language Models (VLMs), Generative AI (LLMs), or Agentic frameworks. You understand the trade-offs between "retroactive validation" and "forward reasoning" in AI design.

  • UX Obsession: Demonstrated history of shipping complex B2B interfaces that simplify cognitive load. You prioritize "task alignment" over generic "trust" scores.

Target Base Salary Range:$180,000 USD - $200,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
