Job description

Dewberry is seeking an attentive, organized, and motivated individual to fill the role of Senior Geospatial Project Manager, to support our growing geospatial initiatives. This position will focus on developing and delivering remote sensing, mapping, and GIS solutions opportunities within our federal, state, local, and commercial markets. The successful candidate will coordinate through our Virginia (Fairfax), Colorado (Denver), Florida (Tampa), or California (Long Beach, Rancho Cordova) offices. The Senior Geospatial Project Manager will be responsible for client management, business development – managing GIS, Geospatial Coordination, and/or Remote Sensing projects from start to finish while ensuring our services meet our clients’ requirements including, scope, schedule, budget, and quality. They will also be responsible for helping Dewberry win new awards by ensuring client satisfaction, mining current contracts, understanding and developing solutions for clients’ future requirements, and looking for new related opportunities.  The Senior Geospatial Project Manager will also recommend areas for Dewberry to invest in innovation and support continuous improvement.   • Serve as Project Manager for electric power utilities lidar, and other geospatial projects.
  • Develop the business development pipeline for our utilities remote sensing program.
  • Manage complex geospatial projects involving airborne topographic or topobathy lidar, aerial imagery, elevation derived hydrography, and other GIS and remote sensing technologies.
  • Market and communicate our services to both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of client/agency programs, rules and regulations and experience completing work in/for various federal agencies, as well as for state, local and commercial clients.
  • Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
  • Manage GIS and Remote Sensing projects from start to finish while ensuring our services meet our clients’ needs and quality.
  • Effectively interface with sub-consultants and any other business relationships associated with the project.
  • Develop blogs, articles, videos, ID posts, and conference presentations of project experiences/technology solutions/information.

  • Is on the Board of a related national or local chapter of a professional organization such as ASPRS, URISA, NSGIC, or USGIF.
  • Close proximity to a Dewberry office.
  • Is an active member in local or national chapters of related professional organizations such as ASPRS, URISA, NSGIC, or USGIF.
  • Possesses or working towards GISP, ASPRS and/or other related certifications.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of the specifications and production processes for geospatial data, services, and application development.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of GIS technology and services, including ESRI’s Enterprise GIS Suite.
  • Is familiar with open source GIS technology and services.
  • Has experience managing projects related to topobathy lidar and acoustic sonar.
  • Possesses sound knowledge of Remote Sensing technology and geospatial data deliverables.
  • If applicable to the project or program, currently holds or can obtain a security clearance at the appropriate level.
  • Has knowledge of and experience in public safety and/or emergency management operations as they relate to addressing, and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
