OVERVIEW:The purpose of the Field Services and Training Specialist role is to support operations and ensure the safe, efficient, assembly and installation of RS products. Reporting to the Field Services and Training Manager, this position is responsible for providing customer support, field consulting, training, and guidance on best practices for the installation of RS Poles. This role is remote in the United States. RS Technologies Inc. ("RS") - RESILIENT STRUCTURES for a reliable grid - is a leading manufacturer specializing in high-performance composite utility structures. Our poles are utilized in transmission, distribution, substation, and communication applications, offering a lighter, more durable, and longer-lasting alternative to wood, steel, and concrete. Since 2003, our poles have served over 500 customers across 30 countries. RESILIENT STRUCTURES operates globally, with manufacturing facilities in Tilbury, Ontario; St. George, Utah; and Houston, Texas, ensuring worldwide distribution of our ultra-resilient poles. Key ResponsibilitiesConsult with customers in recommending safe and efficient tools, work methods and equipment with the implementation of RS poles.Organize, develop and deliver training material including presentations and demonstrations in various mediums, such as conference calls, on site meeting rooms and in the field, adapting to the conditions as necessary to accommodate the customer.Provide subject matter expertise and contribute to the development on a vast library of technical documentation and references.Research tools, equipment and procedures as required to better assist the development of RS work methods, technical bulletins, and training materials.Collect data as directed.Plan and arrange travel and accommodation with efficiency in mind.Participate in meetings, provide reports, and provide support to the technical services team and other lines of business as part of the greater RS team.Training / QualificationsValid Journeyman Lineman License/Certification required; completion of an Electrical Line worker college or apprenticeship program preferred.Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Lineman within a utility organization.Strong understanding of electrical theory, utility power systems, technical drawings/designs, and material/load calculations in both imperial and metric measurements.Experience climbing utility poles/structures, working at heights, and utilizing fall arrest systems, hand tools, and powerline-related equipment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing workload, managing forecasts, and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.Ability to collect data, perform field research, and effectively communicate results in a fast-paced, growing environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present information to technical and non-technical audiences.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.WORK LOCATION:Remote/FieldWORKING CONDITIONS:Ability to travel primarily within the USA, possibly with some international destinations.Willing to travel to and lodge in areas in post-storm recovery conditions with minimal services.Must possess the ability to work alone without compromising safety.Capable of walking on rough terrain and uneven surfaces.Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, rain, wind, cold, etc.).Ability to perform physical work including lifting materials and tools up to 50 lbs., prolonged sitting, and standing in all types of climate and weather conditions.EXPENSES & EQUIPMENTExpenses: Pre-approved expenses (travel, meals, accommodation, etc.) will be borne by RS and paid within thirty (30) days of the Consultant providing an expense report with receipts. Work-related travel in a personal motor vehicle will be reimbursed at a fixed rate.Equipment Provided: RS may provide an RS email address, business cards, and an RS laptop with peripheral hardware at no cost. EEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V.
