Job Summary:
The Utility Engineer acquires limited knowledge and develops basic skills in this position. They apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks. This position performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience and acquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collect data and/or documents
  • Perform standard computations or analysis
  • Prepare or review drawings and visual aids
  • Review engineers should be able to work independently on tasks and use appropriate discretion to elevate concerns and before reaching out to the client
  • Observe construction activities
  • This position may require travel. On occasion, travel to RailPros headquarters, field offices, client offices, work sites and other project related locations may be required
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
  • Uphold the organization's standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulation
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with electronic communication including email and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Possess basic oral and written communication skills
  • Interact with other staff

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience

Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
  • Engineer in Training (EIT); could be obtained while in this category
