Job Description Summary:
The EPC SCADA Project Manager II manages utility-scale solar and BESS EPC projects related to SCADA systems, with responsibility for planning, scope management, budgeting, buyout coordination, controls and reporting, scheduling, and risk management. This role independently leads projects of moderate complexity and provides technical and execution leadership to deliver successful project outcomes.
This role can be remote or hybrid, with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Independently manage SCADA scope, schedule, and budget throughout the EPC project lifecycle for utility-scale solar and BESS projects of moderate complexity.
  • Interpret SCADA contract requirements and ensure project execution aligns with contractual terms and SOLV standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Owners, vendors, subcontractors, and internal SOLV teams.
  • Coordiante cross-functional project teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and 3rd party SCADA providers, by providing task direction, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring alignment with project goals and requirements.
  • Lead procurement and contract execution activities, including scope coordination, scheduling, material procurement, and project closeout.
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality installation of SCADA system components.
  • Lead system design reviews, commissioning activities, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities, ensuring technical and contractual alignment.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to ensure SCADA activities do not delay the overall project's critical milestones.
  • Prepare and manage monthly cost reporting and forecasting for assigned projects.
  • Oversee project documentation, including RFIs, change requests, and action tracking, ensuring timely resolution and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage technical, commercial, and execution risks, escalating issues and helping to find mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with SOLV Energy business partners, clients, and industry vendors.
  • Implement and reinforce SOLV best practices in project scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Lead project closeout and lessons learned and implement process improvements to enhance project execution.
  • Stay informed of industry pricing, trends, and competitive conditions and apply relevant best practices.

Objectives or Goals to Measure Performance:
  • Consistently deliver projects within contracted scope, on time, and within budget with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain strong customer/client and project stakeholder satisfaction, including Owners, field teams, and internal SOLV partners.
  • Support SCADA and Network engineers in managing their project responsibilities independently.
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration across project teams to resolve execution challenges related to contracted scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the PM organization.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new Project Managers.
  • Provide timely availability and support to peer PMs when challenges arise.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and adoption of standardized SOLV processes.
  • Maintain effective relationships with business partners, peers, and internal stakeholders.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects within multidisciplinary teams.
  • 2-4 years of project management experience, including utility-scale PV solar projects.
  • General knowledge of SCADA system design, setup, commissioning, and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cost budgets and project resources.
  • Proven skills in issue escalation, conflict resolution, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience with scheduling software (Oracle P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Power BI).
  • Experience with task management tools (MS Teams, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira).
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems for project cost management, forecasting, and reporting (e.g., CMiC).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-disciplined organization.
  • Strong team collaboration and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field.
  • PMP or other project management certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting or managing utility-scale PV solar projects.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA system architecture, networking concepts, and commissioning workflows.
  • Experience working in an EPC or owner's representative project delivery environment.
  • Familiarity with contract documents and scope interpretation in a construction or EPC setting.
  • Experience collaborating with field teams, subcontractors, and engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated interest in expanding technical and commercial project management capabilities.
