These skills ensure interfaces are intuitive, functional, and meet user expectations, which is crucial for delivering high-quality digital products.

What is a remote user interface tester?

A Remote User Interface (UI) Tester is a professional who evaluates the usability, functionality, and visual design of software interfaces from a remote location. They test websites, mobile apps, or software products to ensure that users can interact with them easily and efficiently. Remote UI Testers identify issues, provide feedback on user experience, and help developers improve the overall quality of digital products. This role typically involves using various testing tools, reporting bugs, and collaborating with development teams, all while working outside of a traditional office setting.

How do remote user interface testers typically collaborate with development teams while working offsite?

Remote User Interface Testers often work closely with developers, designers, and project managers using collaboration tools like Slack, Jira, and video conferencing platforms. They participate in daily stand-ups, provide feedback on UI issues, and log bugs or suggestions through project management systems. Clear, written communication and regular virtual meetings are essential for staying aligned with the team and ensuring UI quality standards are met. Despite working remotely, testers are expected to be proactive in seeking clarifications and sharing test results promptly.

You will be the primary driver of visual design, interaction design, and usability across multiple products used by enterprise and mid-market procurement teams worldwide. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to modernize our platform, define a cohesive design system, and ensure every feature we ship is intuitive, professional, and scalable.

This is an opportunity to build the foundation of design at a growing company and to shape the future design organization as we scale.

What You'll Own

  • Define UI standards for typography, spacing, color systems, and interaction patterns
  • Create and maintain a scalable design system in Figma

Product & UX Execution

  • Translate product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
  • Conduct user interviews and usability testing in collaboration with Product
  • Simplify complex data and procurement workflows into intuitive interfaces
  • Ensure responsive and accessible design standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work directly with PMs to shape feature direction early in the product lifecycle
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure accurate implementation and efficient handoff
  • Support product demos and sales efforts with strong visual storytelling

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze user feedback and product usage to iterate on designs
  • Improve onboarding flows and usability for mid-market and enterprise users
  • Advocate for user-centered design practices across the company

Information Architecture & Content Structure

  • Design and refine the information architecture of our applications to ensure complex, content-heavy workflows are intuitive and scalable
  • Organize dashboards, navigation systems, and data hierarchies to reduce cognitive load
  • Define clear patterns for structuring reports, intelligence outputs, and interactive modules
  • Partner with Product to ensure new features integrate cleanly into the broader application structure

What We're Looking For

  • 3-6 years of experience in UI/UX or product design for B2B SaaS
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a design lead or primary designer on a product
  • Strong portfolio showcasing complex web-based applications
  • Proficiency in Figma (component systems, variants, design tokens preferred)
  • Deep understanding of layout, typography, and modern interface patterns
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams
  • Ability to balance polish with pragmatism in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or scaling a design system
  • Familiarity with data-heavy dashboards or analytics platforms
