Job description

Department: Digital Marketing
Reports To: Senior Manager, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

Direct reports: 0

Location: Hybrid, Denver, CO or home-based, Boston, MA

Position Summary:

Why Join Bentley Digital Marketing Now?

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Marketing team at Bentley Systems. As a globally established, industry-leading software company, we are undergoing a rapid, high-impact digital transformation. We are heavily investing in modern marketing technology, forward thinking strategies, and data-backed experimentation. Here, you experience a rare professional synergy: the scale of a company whose established products actively shape the world's infrastructure, paired with the agility and "builder" mentality of a startup. We are actively building the future of digital marketing at Bentley, and we are looking for innovators to help us shape it.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly technical, detail-oriented Manager of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) to execute and scale our digital testing strategy. Reporting to the Senior Manager of CRO, you will be the hands-on expert responsible for designing, building, and launching experiments across our corporate B2B website and e-commerce storefront.

You will live in our Optimizely environment, transforming strategic concepts into brand-compliant prototypes and live tests. We need an optimizer who combines deep platform expertise with a forward-thinking, AI-driven mindset - someone who actively uses modern AI tools to accelerate test ideation, draft variation copy, and quickly surface data insights to improve daily workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Experimentation & Prototyping
    • Hands-On Test Build & Deployment: Act as the primary builder of A/B, split, and multivariate tests within the Optimizely testing platform.
    • Design & Prototyping: Design and build functional, high-quality test variations and page prototypes directly within the Optimizely CMS. Ensure all web experiences adhere strictly to corporate brand and accessibility guidelines.
    • Personalization Execution: Configure and launch targeted personalization campaigns to deliver specific messaging and offers to priority user segments.
    • AI-Assisted Execution: Actively use generative AI tools to accelerate the creation of A/B testing variations (e.g., rapidly drafting copy variations, brainstorming structural changes) and speed up test builds.
  • Analysis & Insights
    • Deep-Dive Analytics: Actively monitor active experiments and utilize web analytics (Google Analytics 4) to ensure data is capturing correctly and tests are reaching statistical significance.
    • Behavioral Research: Dive into session recordings, heatmaps, and user feedback tools to identify user friction, broken experiences, and new testing opportunities.
    • Test Reporting: Compile detailed post-test analysis, documenting the "why" behind the results, and provide data-backed recommendations for the next iteration to the Senior Manager of CRO.
  • Lifecycle & E-commerce Execution
    • Optimize the Funnel: Execute targeted tests within specific buyer journey stages, including lead capture forms, pricing pages, and the checkout flow to reduce abandonment.
    • Support Lifecycle Campaigns: Work in tandem with the broader team to optimize on-site elements of trial nurture programs and abandoned cart initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with UX & Design: Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into live, brand-compliant variations within Optimizely.
    • Work with Engineering: Partner with web development teams for complex, server-side tests or API integrations that go beyond standard frontend DOM manipulation.
    • QA & Troubleshooting: Lead rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) for all experiments across multiple devices and browsers before launch to ensure a flawless user experience.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in digital marketing, web optimization, or e-commerce, with a heavy focus on hands-on CRO execution.
  • Testing Tools (Critical): Deep, hands-on expertise with the Optimizely suite is required, specifically building within Optimizely Web Experimentation and Optimizely CMS.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong frontend web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery) necessary to build, manipulate, and troubleshoot complex test variations without relying entirely on engineering.
  • AI Curiosity: Forward-thinking mindset with a demonstrated history of experimenting with generative AI tools to improve the speed and quality of testing workflows.
  • Design & Brand Compliance: Experience designing and modifying web elements with a strong eye for UI/UX best practices and strict adherence to corporate brand guidelines.
  • Analytics Mastery: Advanced hands-on proficiency in Google Analytics 4 and user behavior tools to pull custom reports and validate data.
  • B2B E-commerce: Familiarity with B2B web environments, lead generation funnels, and e-commerce storefront optimization.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional QA skills and a methodical approach to validating test setups and data tracking.
