Job description

Walton Signage is a well-respected, innovative company in the signage industry. The Company serves large, national or corporate accounts with turnkey installation of high quality signage systems and has been listed several times as one of Inc. Magazine's fastest growing companies.
This position is REMOTE. This position will be responsible for the engineering, design, and detailing of all aspects of corporate identity/signage.
Key Duties:
  • Responsible for collaborating with program management and engineering teams to create conceptualization and visualization drawings with a good sense of aesthetics, scale and user experience
  • Develop basic manufacturing and industry knowledge of end user needs, processes, and design influencers to develop wide range of concepts within branding standards
  • Research, suggest and select materials, finishes, components, to ensure product performance and help to identify cost savings
  • Work to understand and support the development of user experience and brand design standards
  • Generate new ideas across multiple product categories with a focus on end-user needs
  • Interface with internal contacts such as engineering, estimating, and program management
  • Design within corporate product standards and development process
  • Ability to create 2D and 3D drawings for product concepts that describe design intent and facilitate manufacturing process
  • Support all phases of Design to ensure projects run smoothly and target dates are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key Requirements and Attributes:
  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Design, or related technical degree and/or related experience.
  • 5 or more years experience
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from managers, representatives, suppliers, and customers
  • Practical problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to think on your feet, react and problem-solve quickly
  • Plan and organize tasks and complete by agreed upon deadlines
  • Good visual skills, critical judgment of form and visual detail
  • Presentation and computer rendering skills that illustrate design intent and user experience
  • Understanding of common manufacturing processes

Software Proficiencies
  • Proficient in Corel Draw (Primary Design Package), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling - Sketchup and/or Solidworks
