UX/UI Designer

Schaumburg, Illinois, United States

About the Job

Brighton Solutions is seeking a UX/UI Designer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a suite of modern digital platforms and connected web applications. While this role may be performed largely remotely, candidates based in the greater Chicago area or Northwest Indiana are strongly preferred.

This position partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, and key business stakeholders to deliver intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences. The ideal candidate brings strong end-to-end product design experience, from discovery and research through final UX/UI delivery.

The UX/UI Designer is responsible for executing high-quality user experience and interface design across modern, responsive web applications and digital products. This role plays a key part in shaping product direction by translating user needs and business requirements into elegant, functional design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own UX/UI design execution across a portfolio of digital products and web applications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing, Customer Success, and IT teams.
  • Present design concepts, prototypes, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Apply user-centered design principles to new features, enhancements, and system-wide improvements.
  • Conduct, synthesize, and apply user research to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
  • Create user flows, low- to high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and UI specifications.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative insights, including usability testing and analytics.
  • Contribute to and extend design systems, component libraries, and accessibility standards.
  • Ensure designs meet WCAG accessibility guidelines and usability best practices.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure accurate implementation and smooth handoff.
  • Identify UX issues, propose effective solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery of all UX design assets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in UX, UI, or Product Design in an enterprise environment
  • Portfolio showcasing at least three real-world case studies demonstrating end-to-end design work.
  • Proficiency with Figma (or similar tools), including auto-layout, component libraries, variables, and prototyping.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience creating user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Experience conducting user research and translating insights into design outcomes.
  • Ability to communicate design decisions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional product and engineering teams.
  • Curiosity and willingness to stay current with UX tools, technologies, and design patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS or front-end development concepts.
  • Experience designing for B2B or enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Experience contributing to or working within scaled design systems.
  • Background in graphic design, asset creation, motion design, or video editing.

This position can be performed on a hybrid-remote basis, however candidates should be based in the Greater Chicago area or Northwest Indiana. Compensation is targeted at $70,000-$80,000 and is offered with optional benefits including medical, dental, life insurance and 401(k).
