Job Description:

At Dave & Buster's, we are transforming how data drives decision-making across the enterprise. The Data Analyst serves as a key partner to business and technology teams by converting complex data into actionable insights while supporting enterprise reporting, data governance, business analysis, and strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for analyzing business performance, defining and documenting data requirements, improving data quality, and delivering trusted reporting solutions that enable operational excellence and informed decision-making across the organization. The position will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and delivery teams to support enterprise data modernization initiatives, including our Unity Catalog and data platform transformation efforts. This description aligns with responsibilities commonly found across Dave & Buster's analyst roles emphasizing data analysis, reporting, business partnership, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is based full-time at our Store Support Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (4 days in-office, 1 day remote). Not open to fully remote work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support operational, financial, and strategic business decisions.
  • Analyze business performance and identify trends, opportunities, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop SQL queries, datasets, data models, and analytical solutions that enable self-service reporting and executive decision-making.
  • Create dashboards, scorecards, reports, visualizations, and KPI tracking solutions using enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and Business Analysts to gather requirements, document business processes, and translate business needs into analytical and technical specifications.
  • Perform data profiling, reconciliation, validation, and root cause analysis to ensure accuracy and consistency of enterprise data.
  • Support enterprise data governance initiatives including business glossary development, metadata management, data stewardship, and KPI standardization.
  • Define and document business metrics, data definitions, transformation logic, and source-to-target mappings.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Architecture teams to support enterprise data models, semantic models, reporting structures, and modernization initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, data accessibility, and analytical capabilities.
  • Ensure business users have timely, accurate, and trusted access to information needed for operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with prioritization of analytics initiatives based on business value, strategic objectives, and organizational impact.
  • Present analytical findings, recommendations, and business insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support adoption of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Foster a data-driven culture by promoting data literacy and consistent use of enterprise metrics and reporting standards.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Experience
  • 1, 2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, business analysis, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and data requirements.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for business stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives involving both business and technology teams.
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, modern analytics platforms, and large datasets.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced SQL development and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other modern BI and visualization platforms.
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic layers, and enterprise reporting concepts.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and master data principles.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, cloud data platforms, and modern analytics architectures preferred.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other analytical tools is a plus.
