Remote Unity Engineer information

What are Remote Unity Engineers?

Remote Unity Engineers are software developers who specialize in creating interactive applications, games, and experiences using the Unity game engine, while working remotely from any location. They design, develop, and optimize 2D or 3D content, focusing on gameplay mechanics, graphics, and user interfaces. Their responsibilities often include coding in C#, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with teams through remote tools. Remote Unity Engineers are employed by game studios, AR/VR companies, and other industries seeking immersive digital experiences.

How does a Remote Unity Engineer typically collaborate with team members during game development projects?

As a Remote Unity Engineer, you will frequently collaborate with designers, artists, and other developers using digital communication and project management tools. Daily stand-up meetings, code reviews, and version control platforms like Git are commonly used to keep everyone aligned and ensure smooth integration of your work into the larger project. Effective communication and proactive documentation are essential, as you’ll often resolve challenges and iterate on features asynchronously. You may also participate in sprint planning and feedback sessions to contribute your technical perspective and help shape the game’s development.

JOB TITLE: Product Engineer III
LOCATION: Remote - US

THE ROLE: We're looking for a Fullstack Product Engineer to join a small, fast-moving team building the next generation of AI-first music creation experiences. This is a fullstack, AI-native role where you'll own features end to end, from prototype through production, monitoring, and iteration. You'll work alongside engineers, PMs, and designers in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment, shipping work that real producers and music-makers rely on. Our team practices agentic engineering end-to-end, and we expect engineers to be fluent with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to build production-grade features without sacrificing code quality or reliability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Build and ship fullstack features across multiple AI-first products, including agentic music production and audio ML experiences like voice conversion, synthesis, and composition
  • Work directly with PMs and designers to take rough ideas to shipped product quickly, owning the full arc from ticket to production
  • Integrate and serve audio ML models in production and build the creator-facing surfaces that bring them to life
  • Develop agents and AI-powered workflows that do real, meaningful work inside the product
  • Use agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as a core part of your daily development workflow
  • Own features end to end, prototype, production, reliability monitoring, and iteration
  • Uphold code quality and architectural standards even when moving fast, reading diffs line by line and writing tests for production-facing PRs
  • Contribute to a codebase that improves over time, with integrated reliability monitoring and a measurable weekly impact on shipped features

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience — startup / early-stage product experience where you owned significant scope and shipped real product
  • Problem decomposition — You clarify scope, edge cases, and constraints before writing a single line of code
  • AI fluency and control — You direct the model, write targeted prompts, reject unhelpful suggestions, and know when not to use AI at all
  • Verification discipline — For production PRs, you read diffs line by line, run the code, write tests, and catch hallucinations before they ship
  • Architectural judgment — You reason about blast radius, scale, and trade-offs for every meaningful technical decision
  • Clear communication — You communicate efficiently with both humans and agents about technical decisions, blockers, and outcomes
  • Proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript (frontend) and Node.js/TypeScript (backend)

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience on a small, fast-paced team or early-stage product with broad scope ownership
  • Exposure to ML/AI products, model serving, or audio in any form
  • You make music — or you've spent enough time around producers to understand how they work and what they need

SPLICE BENEFITS:

  • Compensation & Equity: Competitive pay with annual reviews and equity opportunities.
  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO to recharge and thrive.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and company match.
  • Parental Support: 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for non-birthing parents, and 18-20 weeks for birthing parents.
  • Flexible Work Options: Work remotely or connect at our office hubs and creative spaces worldwide.
  • Professional Growth: Annual learning budget, leadership programs, and team ambassador opportunities.
  • Community & Connection: Inclusive events, team meet-ups, and vibrant Employee Resource Groups.

The national pay range for this role is $130,480 - $163,100. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
