Job description

About Us

We are a healthcare technology company building an Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollment platform that connects directly to Healthcare.gov as an Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) provider. Our software helps hundreds of thousands of people navigate a complex insurance market and access affordable, high-quality coverage. We are a small, senior team that values ownership, security, and shipping software that matters.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer who builds production software with modern agentic AI tools as a core part of their workflow. AI assistance is not optional or experimental here. We expect you to drive significant output through agentic coding tools while remaining fully accountable for the correctness, security, and maintainability of everything that ships.

You will work across our .NET Core backend and React/TypeScript frontend, our AWS infrastructure, and our CI/CD pipelines, operating with a high degree of independence on a small remote team in a regulated, security-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain web applications using .NET Core, OpenAPI, and gRPC.

  • Build intuitive, accessible interfaces in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with automated UI tests using Node.js.

  • Manage data access and modeling with Entity Framework and PostgreSQL (Amazon Aurora).

  • Implement and maintain authentication and data-protection measures using OpenID Connect (Duende IdentityServer).

  • Deploy and operate containerized services on AWS (ECS Fargate, ECR, S3, Aurora/RDS) using Docker.

  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform.

  • Apply secure development practices and support compliance with CMS, EDE, and healthcare regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a full-stack developer with deep .NET Core expertise and strong command of CLI tooling.

  • Demonstrated current proficiency using agentic AI coding tools to deliver production-bound work, not just autocomplete or one-off snippets (be ready to discuss specifics in the interview).

  • Ability to scope work into clear specs, direct AI agents to implement and refactor, and review their output critically.

  • Strong judgment about when to trust, verify, or reject AI-generated output, and full accountability for the security, test coverage, and edge cases of any code an agent produces.

  • Experience with prompt and context engineering, and with applying AI tooling responsibly in a regulated healthcare setting that handles PII/PHI.

  • Strong front-end experience with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and AWS container services (ECS Fargate, ECR, S3, Aurora/RDS).

  • Strong SQL skills and production experience with PostgreSQL.

  • CI/CD pipeline experience, ideally with GitLab.

  • Extensive Linux experience, including command-line proficiency and basic system administration.

  • Experience implementing security measures and working within compliance or regulatory standards.

  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy on a small, fully remote team.

  • Knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure as code is a plus.

  • Prior experience in healthcare, insurance, or another regulated, PII-sensitive domain is a plus.
