Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support the Finance and Operations teams through the preparation of ad hoc financial analysis, operational reporting, and performance insights. This role will play an important part in providing timely and accurate information to operational leaders, identifying trends, and helping drive data-informed decision-making across the business.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced Excel and systems capabilities, comfort partnering with operational leaders, and the ability to evaluate current processes and make recommendations for improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for operational and executive stakeholders.
    • Analyze revenue, costs, margins, labor, and operational performance metrics.
    • Assist in the monthly reporting cycle, including variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-period results.
    • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial and operational data analysis.
    • Support the development and enhancement of management reporting packs and dashboards.
  • Operations Reporting
    • Produce operational KPI reports and performance scorecards.
    • Partner with operational leaders to understand reporting requirements and business drivers.
    • Maintain reporting accuracy and ensure consistency across data sources.
    • Assist with the tracking and analysis of workforce, productivity, utilization, and service delivery metrics.
    • Support operational reviews by providing timely financial insights and analysis.
  • Data Management & Process Improvement
    1. Extract, validate, and reconcile data from multiple systems.
    2. Improve existing reporting processes through automation and standardization where possible.
    3. Maintain reporting documentation and ensure data integrity.
    4. Assist with special projects and business cases as required.
  • Stakeholder Support
    • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from Finance and Operations teams.
    • Provide analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and address reporting needs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, financial analysis, business analysis, or a related role

Computer Skills

  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excell skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis functions.  
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching could be required.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
  • The noise level is usually moderate. 
  • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
  • Work Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy and safety requirements.

This position has an annual salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year. Final compensation for this position depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
