Job Description:

The Clinical Placement Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Clinical Placements in the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of clinical experiences for teacher candidates. This position is responsible for managing placement logistics, maintaining data systems, supporting professional development events, and serving as a key liaison between the UMSV School of Education and its school partners. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, and contributes to strategic initiatives that enhance the quality and equity of fieldwork experiences. This role includes project management, stakeholder coordination, and data-informed decision support. The Clinical Placement Coordinator position is remote with periodic on-campus requirements throughout the year

Shift: Monday - Friday 10am- 6pm

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Director of Clinical Placements in managing day-to-day operations, communication and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinates placement logistics, onboarding of cooperating teachers, and student documentation.
  • Assists with event planning (e.g., student teaching virtual orientations, virtual PD workshops).
  • Maintains databases and tracks student progress and placement outcomes.
  • Serves as a point of contact for students, faculty, and school partners in relation to field work and student teaching expectations.

Operational Management:

  • Coordinate student teaching and fieldwork placements in collaboration with faculty and partner schools.
  • Manage onboarding processes for cooperating teachers, including documentation, training, and communication.
  • Maintain and update databases related to placements, evaluations, and student progress.
  • Ensure timely collection, organization and verification of student eligibility for student teaching and certification

Strategic Support:

  • Assist the Director in implementing programmatic improvements based on feedback, data analysis, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support the development and tracking of key performance indicators for student teaching outcomes.
  • Contribute to reports for internal review, accreditation bodies, and state certification agencies.

Planning and Coordination:

  • Organize and support logistics for virtual student teaching orientation sessions, virtual professional development workshops, and recognition events for cooperating teachers and student teachers.
  • Coordinate CTLE-credit offerings and maintain records of participation and feedback.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, cooperating teachers, and school administrators regarding fieldwork and student teaching logistics and expectations.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication across all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required
  • Masterโ€™s degree in education, public administration, or a related field with experience in education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, teacher education, or school-based partnerships.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in data systems (e.g., Excel, Airtable, or student information systems).
  • Familiarity with New York State teacher certification requirements and clinical practice standards is a plus.
