Remote Tile Design information

What is a remote tile designer?

A remote tile designer is a professional who creates tile patterns, layouts, and designs for various spaces, such as homes, offices, or commercial buildings, while working from a location outside of the client's site—usually from home or another remote setting. They use digital design tools and software to develop detailed plans that can be shared with clients and contractors online. This role often involves collaborating virtually with architects, interior designers, and clients to ensure the designs meet aesthetic and functional requirements. Remote tile designers must possess strong design skills, proficiency with design software, and effective communication abilities to succeed in a remote environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote tile designer?

To thrive as a Remote Tile Designer, you need strong skills in graphic design, pattern creation, and color theory, typically supported by a degree in design or a related field. Proficiency in digital design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and CAD programs is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective remote communication are key soft skills that distinguish top performers in this role. These abilities ensure the delivery of high-quality, visually appealing tile designs that meet client specifications and succeed in a collaborative virtual environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote tile designers and how can they be addressed?

Remote tile designers often face challenges related to communication and collaboration with clients, manufacturers, and other team members since they are not onsite. To overcome these, it's important to use clear visual references, maintain organized digital files, and schedule regular video calls to review designs and gather feedback. Additionally, setting up a reliable workflow for sharing large design files and staying updated on project timelines ensures smooth progress. Embracing project management tools can also help remote tile designers stay connected and aligned with project goals.

Job description

Job Title: Sr. Manager, Lifecycle Marketing
Location: New York, NY (Flatiron HQ) – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

About The Job

TileBar is an innovative industry leader transforming the tile, interiors and surfaces market in the United States. As a rapidly growing company, we are redefining how homeowners and designers shop for projects. With an ambitious vision to lead the multi-billion-dollar tile category, we are seeking a visionary, strategic, and hands-on creative leader to shape the future of our brand and join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our growth trajectory.

The Senior Manager, Lifecycle Marketing owns TileBar's owned channel strategy end-to-end from campaign execution to the thoughtfully designed journeys that guide customers from first discovery to purchase and beyond.

This role serves two distinct audiences: residential homeowners and interior designers, each requiring their own messaging strategy and funnel approach. A significant focus is on increasing repeat rate and lifetime value among the design and architect community, where the opportunity is substantial. Beyond email campaigns and flows, this person will help build SMS into a fully realized channel alongside email, and will play a key role in TileBar's omnichannel growth, connecting the digital experience to a rapidly expanding showroom footprint, with 11 doors open by end of 2026 and 8 more slated for next year.

The role partners closely with Creative, Web/Ecomm, Digital Marketing, Analytics, and Sales, and reports to the VP of Marketing. It's the right fit for an analytical thinker who obsesses over customer journeys, enjoys building, testing and iterating, and has a passion for home and design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

•              Own the full lifecycle marketing program, including strategy, execution, and optimization, serving both residential homeowners and interior designers with distinct journeys and messaging for each audience.

•              Design and manage automated flows and campaign programs that move customers from discovery to purchase

•              Own the strategy to drive repeat rate and LTV, with particular focus on the designer and architect community.

•              Lead creative testing cadence across campaigns and flows; own reporting, communication of results, and development of best practices. Manage briefing to the creative team and internal review process.

•              Build SMS into a fully realized channel alongside email, identifying opportunities to deepen engagement and extend the customer journey across both digital and showroom touchpoints.

•              Partner with Analytics team to ensure first-party data is being fully utilized to send the right message, to the right customer, at the right time. Own ESP/vendor relationships and platform optimization.

•              Define and track KPIs across the lifecycle program; report on performance regularly and translate data into actionable recommendations that improve engagement, conversion, and retention.

•              Collaborate closely with Creative, Web/Ecomm, Digital Marketing, Analytics, and Sales to align lifecycle initiatives with broader business objectives and the omnichannel experience.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

•              5-7 years of hands-on experience in lifecycle, email, and retention marketing, ideally within a premium consumer, luxury, or home design brand.

•              Proven track record building and optimizing lifecycle programs with strong command of segmentation, personalization, and behavioral targeting.

•              Experience designing for multiple distinct audiences, including trade or B2B segments, is a plus.

•              Analytical by nature, with the ability to translate performance data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

•              Experience briefing and collaborating with creative teams, with strong written communication and attention to detail.

•              Comfortable building in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment — this is a role for someone who likes to own things and move quickly.

•              Experience with Listrak strongly preferred; familiarity with CDP platforms a plus.

•              Passionate about home design and luxury consumer goods with a strong understanding of customer behaviors and trends.
