Director of Telecommunications & Travel eSIM Business Development

Remote | Global | Telecommunications, Travel eSIM & Connectivity

About Acumen Agency

Acumen Agency is a global full-spectrum professional services company providing consulting, marketing, financial, design, business, brokerage, outsourcing, executive search, technology, AI, and telecommunications-related services to clients worldwide.

The Opportunity

Acumen Agency is seeking an experienced Director of Telecommunications & Travel eSIM Business Development to develop and lead our global telecommunications and connectivity business.

The primary focus of this position will be the sales, distribution, marketing, and international business development of travel eSIM products across multiple countries, markets, platforms, and customer segments.

This is a highly commercial, sales-focused position. The Director will be responsible for expanding Acumen's eSIM customer base, developing distribution partnerships, entering new geographic markets, establishing sales channels, and building recurring telecommunications revenue.

The ideal candidate will understand telecommunications, eSIMs, travel connectivity, digital distribution, international markets, and regulatory requirements — and, most importantly, know how to sell and build relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the global sales strategy for Acumen's travel eSIM products.
  • Acquire individual, corporate, travel, and other customers.
  • Expand eSIM sales across multiple countries and geographic markets.
  • Identify and establish new online and offline sales channels.
  • Develop partnerships with travel agencies, airlines, hotels, tourism companies, travel platforms, retailers, corporations, and other distribution partners.
  • Develop affiliate, reseller, referral, wholesale, and white-label opportunities.
  • Expand Acumen's presence across relevant e-commerce, travel, telecommunications, and digital platforms.
  • Identify high-potential countries and markets for expansion.
  • Develop country-specific sales and distribution strategies.
  • Build relationships with telecommunications operators, mobile network providers, eSIM platforms, aggregators, and technology partners.
  • Coordinate pricing, product packaging, promotions, and commercial partnerships.
  • Monitor competitors, market pricing, consumer demand, and emerging connectivity opportunities.
  • Develop corporate travel and business connectivity programs.
  • Pursue bulk and recurring eSIM sales to companies, travel organizations, and other institutions.
  • Develop international marketing and business development campaigns.
  • Coordinate telecommunications and eSIM compliance requirements across applicable markets.
  • Work with appropriate legal, regulatory, telecommunications, and technology professionals to ensure products and distribution arrangements meet applicable requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with technology and telecommunications partners.
  • Develop sales forecasts, revenue targets, market-entry plans, and performance metrics.
  • Recruit and develop additional telecommunications sales and business development representatives as the division grows.
  • Train and teach other business development professionals how to prospect, sell, network, develop partnerships, and acquire eSIM customers.
  • Build Acumen's international telecommunications and connectivity business.

Products & Business Opportunities

The division may include:

  • Travel eSIMs
  • International eSIM plans
  • Data-only eSIMs
  • Regional eSIM packages
  • Country-specific eSIM packages
  • Global connectivity plans
  • Corporate travel eSIMs
  • Business connectivity solutions
  • Wholesale eSIM distribution
  • Reseller programs
  • Affiliate programs
  • White-label opportunities
  • Travel-industry partnerships
  • Enterprise connectivity partnerships
  • Digital telecommunications products

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in telecommunications, eSIM, mobile connectivity, travel technology, digital products, or related business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate sales and develop new markets.
  • Strong understanding of international telecommunications and digital distribution is highly desirable.
  • Existing relationships with telecom operators, travel companies, distributors, retailers, technology companies, or eSIM providers are an advantage.
  • Excellent sales, prospecting, networking, negotiation, and partnership-development skills.
  • Ability to identify and enter new international markets.
  • Strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Comfortable working across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Experience building or leading sales/business development teams is an asset.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications regulations, eSIM requirements, privacy, consumer protection, and international compliance is highly desirable.

Compensation & Career Opportunity

This position initially operates on a performance-based compensation structure, tied to sales, customer acquisition, partnerships, revenue generation, market expansion, and other measurable business development results.

As the telecommunications division grows, there is an opportunity to transition into a full-time salaried executive leadership position, with the potential to build and lead Acumen Agency's global telecommunications and connectivity division.

Work Arrangement

Remote | Global | Flexible

The position can be performed remotely, with international travel and in-person meetings as appropriate for telecommunications partners, distributors, travel companies, corporate clients, industry events, and market-expansion opportunities.

Telecommunications services, eSIM provisioning, regulatory matters, and market entry will be conducted through appropriate authorized telecommunications providers, technology partners, and qualified professionals in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
