Job Description: Technical Program Manager (TPM) — SXP Product
Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join our SXP Product team. This role will focus on delivering complex programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and budget, navigating circumstances involving multiple moderate-probability, moderate-impact risk factors. The ideal candidate will bring program-level strategic planning expertise, the ability to interact with executive-level management, and strong skills in complex issue resolution, communications, and team building.
Technical Program Manager (TPM) Responsibilities
Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and budget under circumstances involving multiple moderate-probability, moderate-impact risk factors.
Lead program-level strategic planning, interact with executive-level management, drive complex issue resolution, and demonstrate excellent communication and team-building skills.
Manage groups of internal exempt and matrixed employees and contractors that serve on projects to deliver systems and system enhancements meeting specified requirements.
Provide oversight of project scope definition and management, requirements gathering and documentation, time estimating, project schedule development and tracking, project budget management, project status reporting, issue and risk management, contingency planning, customer interaction, and communications across multiple organizational levels.
Track and maintain progress reports across projects, ensuring timely and consistent follow-ups with stakeholders to drive execution and accountability.
Proactively escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate teams or leadership when delays or blockers arise, ensuring timely resolution and project momentum.
Develop and manage detailed launch plans, track existing bugs and feedback items, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive them through to closure.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in a mix of software/technical background and technical program management.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
Proven experience managing complex programs with multiple partners and stakeholders.
Strong ability to understand and review code (Python, JavaScript); software engineering background preferred for understanding architecture and design aspects.
Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
Experience with software development lifecycle.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.
Must be able to work Pacific time zone hours (strict requirement).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Meta experience (e.g., previous contingent worker at Meta).
Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude and the ability to leverage them effectively.
