Remote Teaching information

What is remote teaching?

Remote teaching is the practice of delivering educational instruction to students through online platforms and digital tools, rather than in a traditional in-person classroom setting. In remote teaching, educators use video conferencing, online assignments, discussion boards, and other virtual resources to engage with students and facilitate learning. This approach allows for flexibility in where and when students access lessons, making education more accessible to a wider audience. Remote teaching can be used for all grade levels and subjects, and has become increasingly popular due to advancements in technology and the need for distance learning solutions.

What are some common challenges remote teachers face, and how can they effectively overcome them?

Remote teachers often encounter challenges such as maintaining student engagement, managing diverse technology proficiency levels, and ensuring clear communication across virtual platforms. To overcome these, it's important to incorporate interactive activities, leverage user-friendly digital tools, and establish consistent communication routines. Building a supportive online classroom community and offering flexible office hours can also help address individual student needs and foster a positive learning environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote teacher, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Teacher, you need strong subject expertise, a teaching credential, and experience in curriculum development and online instruction. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) like Google Classroom, Zoom, and digital assessment tools is essential. Excellent communication, adaptability, and time management skills help engage students and manage virtual classrooms effectively. These competencies ensure that educators can deliver high-quality, interactive education and support student success in a remote environment.

Job description

Inside Sales & Client Relationships — Real Estate Media (Remote)

$45,000–65,000/year (base + commission)

Watson Media House is a real estate photography and video company serving over 1,000 agents across five markets in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas. We shoot listings and deliver them in 24 hours. We're hiring our first dedicated cold caller.

English requirement

You'll be on the phone with US real estate agents all day. You need clear, neutral-accent English that a busy agent can understand perfectly, with no repeating and no strain.

We test this live during the interview. If your spoken English isn't at that level, this isn't the right role.

What you'll do

  • 150–200 dials per day on an autodialer, from a list we provide
  • Offer agents a discount on their first shoot and get them booked
  • Follow up with everyone who claims the offer until they actually book
  • Follow up after their first shoot until they book again. This is half the job and where most of your commission comes from
  • Log everything in the CRM, same day

You're not closing complicated deals. You're getting agents to try us once, then keeping them coming back.

What we need

  • Cold calling experience, high volume preferred
  • Comfortable owning a client relationship, not just booking and moving on
  • Clear, natural English on the phone
  • Reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and a headset
  • Someone who can make 200 calls, hear no 190 times, and dial again the next morning

Real estate experience is a plus but not required. We'll teach you the packages.

Pay

  • $13/hour base
  • $25 when a new client completes their first shoot
  • $100 when that client books a second full-price package
  • $50 on their third shoot, $25 on their fourth
  • $150 commission for any social media retainer you source that was closed

Most of your income comes from follow-up, not first bookings. The clients you keep coming back pay you again and again, and your commission should grow every month as your book builds.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours, Monday through Friday, US Central business hours.

Straight Talk

Most calls go nowhere. Agents are busy and plenty of them will hang up on you. The people who do well here treat it as a numbers game and don't take it personally.

If that sounds miserable, this isn't the job for you. If you've done it before and you're good at it, we pay on results and we don't micromanage.

To apply

Send your resume and a short note telling us the highest call volume you've handled and what you were selling.
