Position Description
DEFINITION:
To emphasize student success strategies, campus resources, and NC ACA course competencies while providing classroom instruction to college students through readings, class discussions, demonstration, handouts, discussion questions, quizzes, and other student engagement methods.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
  • Receives direct supervision and/or direction from the Dept Chair, English
  • May occasionally receive general supervision from full-time instructional staff
  • Exercises no supervision

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide classroom and online instruction to students
  • Prepare lesson plans and schedule class activities
  • Develop and prepare supplemental materials to enhance textbook materials
  • Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record individual scores
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance in the college's LMS and other reporting software
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines
  • Participate in training and professional development as needed to effectively deliver course content and engage students in accordance with college expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
  • Classroom and online instructional techniques and procedures
  • Principles and procedures of academic and instructional techniques and procedures
