Job description

Aspen Air Conditioning has been South Florida’s trusted commercial HVAC contractor for over 40 years, serving Palm Beach and Broward Counties from Port St. Lucie to Miami. We are a licensed, bonded, and insured Florida mechanical contractor with more than 500 commercial projects completed across high-rise condos, healthcare, hospitality, retail, schools, and office buildings, working with Carrier, Trane, Lennox, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, and Rheem.

Flexible Work Environment – Remote or In-Person

What You Will Do

• Own general contractor and client relationships through the bid cycle: pre-bid questions, scope clarification, value engineering conversations, and the follow-up that wins work

• Challenge scope and documents constructively: spot what the plans imply, flag what is missing, and protect Aspen and the client from surprises

• Lead pricing strategy and margin decisions on commercial construction bids (new construction, remove and replace, design-build)

• Review and validate estimates produced by our estimating team before release; every proposal carries your judgment

• Partner with our estimating team (a 20-year veteran estimator and a junior team member) rather than grinding takeoffs alone; the production engine is built, this seat drives it

• Feed the win/loss loop: track outcomes, refine our rate library, and sharpen our competitiveness bid over bid

What You Bring

• 7+ years estimating commercial HVAC / mechanical construction (plan-and-spec and design-build), with a track record of won work

• Fluency reading full mechanical plan sets, specs, and addenda; comfort quantifying scope gaps and writing qualifications and exclusions

• Genuine relationship skills with GCs, construction managers, and owners: you are the person contractors call back

• Command of markup, margin, and labor factoring; you price to protect, not just to win

• Takeoff software experience (we use View 360; equivalents welcome) and strong Excel

• South Florida market experience is a plus, not a requirement; we will relocate the right person and immerse you in our market
