Data Center Technician – Hiring in Multiple U.S. Locations

Location: CA, MN, TX, VA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive Base + Company Bonus & Equity. Final compensation is determined by multiple factors, including geographic location, technical skills, and over experience level.

Work Environment: On-site / Customer Data Center Locations

Schedule: Candidates must be open and available to work regular/day, swing, and night shifts based on customer and project requirements.

About Mirapath

Mirapath delivers AI-ready infrastructure for data centers, labs, and mission-critical environments. We help customers design, procure, install, and manage infrastructure that is scalable, reliable, secure, and ready for production.

Our team works with leading enterprises and technology organizations to deploy and support critical infrastructure—from racks, power, and structured cabling to connectivity, out-of-band management, and ongoing data center services.

We are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our growing services team in Minnesota. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems in the field, and delivering high-quality work in mission-critical customer environments.

The Role

As a Data Center Technician, you will support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing operation of IT infrastructure within customer data centers.

You will work directly with servers, network equipment, racks, fiber and copper cabling, power infrastructure, and related data center technologies. You will collaborate with Mirapath project managers, technical teams, customers, vendors, and other field resources to complete deployments accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Because data center operations and customer projects may require coverage outside traditional business hours, candidates must be flexible and willing to work regular/day, swing, and night shifts as assigned.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, technically capable, comfortable working independently, and committed to providing an excellent customer experience.

What You'll Do
  • Install, rack, stack, upgrade, move, and decommission servers, network equipment, and other data center hardware.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot server, hardware, connectivity, and basic network issues.

  • Install, route, label, dress, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling.

  • Manage patch cords, cross-connects, and rack-level connectivity while maintaining clean and organized cable management.

  • Perform equipment replacements, component swaps, hardware upgrades, and other break/fix activities.

  • Provide on-site smart-hands and remote-hands support for customers and Mirapath technical teams.

  • Support installation and connectivity of racks, PDUs, console servers, KVM systems, and related data center infrastructure.

  • Execute work according to approved scopes of work, installation standards, customer procedures, and change-control requirements.

  • Perform equipment and rack audits and verify hardware placement, labeling, cabling, and connectivity against project documentation.

  • Process and coordinate Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), equipment replacements, and defective hardware.

  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, including tickets, installation documentation, test results, equipment information, and photographs when required.

  • Assist with inventory management, receiving, staging, deployment, and tracking of equipment.

  • Identify project risks, installation issues, or customer-impacting conditions and escalate them promptly.

  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, customers, vendors, contractors, and other technicians to keep projects on schedule.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, professional, and customer-ready work environment.

  • Work regular/day, swing, and night shifts as required to support customer operations, deployment schedules, and project needs.

  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows, weekends, and after-hours work when required.

  • Travel to customer data center locations within Minnesota and occasionally to other locations as business needs require.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations, data center field services, IT infrastructure, server hardware, networking, or a similar technical environment.

  • Experience diagnosing and resolving server hardware and connectivity issues.

  • Strong understanding of data center operations and basic server and network equipment principles.

  • Hands-on experience installing and supporting enterprise server and networking hardware.

  • Experience working with fiber optic and copper cabling, including installation, labeling, cable management, and troubleshooting.

  • Basic knowledge of Ethernet networking, switches, ports, IP connectivity, and structured cabling.

  • Basic familiarity with Linux and command-line tools is preferred.

  • Ability to read and follow rack elevations, cable schedules, installation drawings, scopes of work, and technical documentation.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
