Position: Wastewater Monitoring Temp (Survey Support Specialist)

Location: Remote; Must be local to the DMV area

Assignment Type: Contract, approximately 5 weeks with potential to extend based on business needs

Pay: $20.00 -$21.00 / Per hour (depending on experience)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with some flexibility; 37.5 hours per week

About Our Client

Addison Group's client is a national nonprofit organization that works with local health departments and public health professionals across the country. The organization supports research, data collection and programs designed to strengthen public health initiatives nationwide.

Job Description

Addison Group is seeking two Wastewater Monitoring Temps to support a national public health survey initiative. This temporary position will focus on contacting local health departments to encourage completion of a 2026 wastewater monitoring survey.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable making outbound calls, communicating professionally with a variety of contacts and working independently. Training and call scripts will be provided. Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise will be important in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound outreach to local health departments and other designated contacts to encourage survey participation
  • Explain the purpose and importance of the survey using provided resources and talking points
  • Follow up with contacts as needed to help increase response rates
  • Research and identify appropriate points of contact when emails are returned as undeliverable
  • Record outreach activity and update information accurately in spreadsheets or databases
  • Assist with data entry, tracking and other administrative tasks related to the survey
  • Work independently while staying aligned with project priorities and deadlines
  • Partner with internal research staff to address questions or troubleshoot outreach challenges

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of customer service, call center, outreach or related experience
  • Experience making outbound phone calls in a professional or customer-focused environment
  • Comfortable communicating with individuals and organizations by phone and email
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases or data entry
  • Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage work independently
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in a nonprofit, public health, research or survey environment is a plus
